His sense of humor and contagious smile were unforgettable. Bob touched so many lives and memories of him will be held close in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him."

We really enjoyed visiting with Bob and Blake! Oh my heart goes out to them, he was such a good man and Blakes #1 fan and father! I can still see him in his shorts and sandals with very tan legs! Much love and sympathy, sincerely, DeLayna |

I knew Worland's fed the same feed so my husband asked if we could borrow some. Absolutely no problem. He didn't know us at all. You tend to remember things like that. |

Location: Watertown, SD | I'm hoping that Blake will get on here and read this at some point. I want to share one of my favorite memories of the Worland family and, hopefully, give Blake a smile... It was my second year of barrel racing and my husband had just bought Little Son Ofa Gun from Worlands as a surprise for me. I load Gunny and my other horse, a nice grey son of MSM and headed to the Silver Cup in Tulsa, where my family had a hunter/jumper barn nearby in Bixby for me to keep my horses at while I competed. My first run on Gunny was terrible. Poor Gunny! The Worlands were their usual kind, encouraging selves and lied through their teeth with plenty of "Good job!" comments. I had a nice run on my grey, finishing just out of the 1D money with MANY top horses competing. The second day, as I recall, I tipped with both horses. I got up on Sunday morning, the day of the short go's for the open horses and the futurity horses and decided I'd just go watch and relax & enjoy the day, since I didn't make the open short go. When the futurity finals were finished, I crossed paths with Bob and Jeanine. In his usual style, Bob hugged me and said, "Congratulations on making your first 1D finals!!" "Oh," I corrected him, "I didn't make it." He walked me over to the list and showed me my name on the 1D short go list and had to explain to this novice that several of the same horses earned 1D checks and so they go down the list to the next fastest horses. I had NO idea!!!!!!! So, I jumped in my pickup and hauled butt back to our family's place. Gunny was sunbathing in the center of the pond, as he had an odd fixation for water. He had to go along to "babysit" the neurotic MSM gelding who I had to run.....at any moment. I swam out to get Gunny, loaded horses and made it back to the Fairgrounds just in time to warm my horse up and make my run. I didn't pull a check, but came in 15th out of the 30 in the short go. If it wasn't for Bob, I would have missed my very first 1D finals in a large event and I would have been absolutely heartbroken if I had. Bob teased me about it allllllllllllllll the time!! Thanks, itty bitty! |

I remember when Blake rode Cece and the yella mare and this was very early in his Barrel racing days and we would rib Bob about wearing the outback australian hat and long black trench coat was his way of being western... we had a hoot. Lately he would show up orange and in shorts. He will be truly missed a great person and friend.
I want to pay my respects for him and his family. |

Location: Midwest USA | I agree this one needs to stay at the top. Bob was a wonderful man that everyone enjoyed seeing at the races!!! I meant he and the family down at Humansville when Blake first started runnin CeCe - this little blonde headed boy came barreling in from the back 40 and yelled CC and the first barrel and she sucked it up as she did the rest - Bob and Jeanine were very proud standing on the roughstock catwalk watching. |

I know there are lots of little ones that see Blake and watch him run at numerous shows, they look up to Blake (I hope he knows that). I pray he walks away after reading this thread knowing how wonderful his and his families impact has been on the barrel racing community. Blake your personality glows just like your fathers did, its a great blessing that he has passed on to you. I pray for peace and comfort for your family during this tragic time and know that with every step you take in your life from here on out you will have a angel over you.

| This is the most amazing family I have ever met! They always were their when you needed them with a smile on their faces. I remember we were in Nebraska at a race and they were calling for tornadoes, all of us kids decided to ride in the trailers as the parents pulled the into a barn for safety. While in one of those trailers that bob was backing for a woman whom didn't think she could without hitting one of the many cement pillars...........crash bob backed it into a pillar, we laughed for awhile after we found no damage.:) the worlands were great we had a cookout that night in the barn! Great times I will never forget all the memories I have of this wonderful family! |

| Bob saved us many times too! We were going to Joseys Jr World, borrowed a friends big LQ and I was terrified pulling it. Bob & Blake (Janine flew down later) made a special stop to meet us. That way I could follow and if he could get the bus & trailer through construction zones, I would make it too! LOL! We had soo many fun times, but nobody has mentioned his cooking!!! We had some pretty good eats in lawn chairs by the bus. I hope he's looking down on us smiling knowing how much him and his family are loved!! Dawn & Kelsey |

Lisa,
I won't be able to make it to the funeral since I already had plans to go out of town this weekend, but I'll be there in my thoughts, and all of you in my prayers! Please PM the Worland's address to me so can send a sympathy card. And give Blake a great BIG hug for me! Let me know what I can do to help with the memorial barrel race too. Shane and I truly wanted to attend Bob's funeral. We seriously discused driving south from Omaha/Lincoln, when we ran into a full out Blizzard. Road conditions are not ideal, so we drove slowly home. Our thoughts, our hearts and our Sympaties are with You this moment; tomorrow and over the coming months. Sending big {{HUGS}} IttyBitty; We will Remember You......always God Bless, Shane & Ronda Hilker (sunrise)

Location: KS | As we waited at the visitation tonight they showed many great photo memories of Bob and his family, FYI Blake looks so much like Bob that you had to do a few double takes at the photos. It is for sure that there are MANY wonderful memories that will forever live with his family and friends. He has touched so many and will be missed more than he could have ever imagined. Many prayers for Janine and Blake.
For those that can't make it tomorrow, Yankee posted this.

Bob's memorial service was beautiful and comforting. The church was filled with friends and family who loved Bob and his wife Janine and son Blake.
Our broken hearts continue to go out to Janine and Blake. We love you so much.
I am so grateful to have known Bob and thankful I had that last conversation with him a day before his death. I loved the pastors description of Bob meeting Jesus and the hug Bob received upon meeting his Savior in Heaven.
I think I know why it's been so grey and cloudy in Kansas..because Bob is hoarding the sun. :) Send some our way Bob - we need it to dry our tears. We will love you forever Bob Worland!
That was beautiful Gail thanks so much for the update. Continued prayers for Janine & Blake. |

can't truly explain this "feeling" empty void When Bob entered a room, you felt his energy, his spirit. Bob's smile could lite the whole arena. I'll remember You always. More Prayers to Bob's family; Jeanie & Blake; tons of hugs to you both.

| Rest in peace. I hope a lot of people can realize his contributions. 10 years later but it still hurts because he was a savior for a lot of people. The memeroial service was great because it comforted a lot of people but it also gave people the good memories that they should remember when Bob's name is mentioned in any kind of discussion. Hopefully, there are some changes in the future when it comes to people appreciating him because he had a lot of problems in the past. The slide show was a great sight because there were a lot of people who were having kind of problem when there were people talking about him. It is nice to see that he is still appreciated after this day. |
