I know this has been hashed over before, but how does Paul Ammerman stamp his saddles?  Does only Carl put Ammerman Yoakum, Texas on the cinch keeper?  I'm trying to figure out if one stamped Ammerman under the stirrup leather on one side but in the exact same script as Carl puts on the keeper would mean it's Paul, or could that also be Carl's?  It is an older saddle and mine custom made Carl  was made in 1990 and has the stamp on the keeper.

I've owned many of Carl's saddles and have one right now. He also stamps some Angel Kisses. I think I have a picture of his most common stamp and the one that would be on a saddle made in the 90's.

I know what Carl's looks like, but I have never seen a Paul Ammerman saddle in person.  I'm looking at a used Ammerman, but I'm not sure about it.  I want to make sure it's a Carl.  I just didn't know if he ever put a stamp under the fender like this on the body of the saddle.  If that's the way Paul does it, then I know it's not what I want.

I don't think he has. I have both of the above saddles and will go look and see if either has any stampings under the fender. I would give Carl a call tomorrow and he will be able to tell you for sure.

I meant a picture of the whole saddle. We have owned a lot of Carl Ammerman's and can usually tell if it's a Carl's or Paul's.

In the mid 80's Paul made my husband and me each saddles. On the keeper They have "PAUL" stamped and underneath it a hand carved capital "A" . I wish I could post pic lol!! I sold mine cause it didnt fit the next horse. big mistake!! Should have saved it. Now I have 2 Carl's and they are both Angel Kisses. Send Carl a picture of the fender carving. .

I have an original Paul Ammerman roping saddle   My late Grandpa ordered it and it's a big nice heavy saddle   He said his wife helped with the tooling    ??
