| I am going to breed my mare for the 1st time. Fingers crossed she takes. :) I have a new 3 year old that I am starting on the pattern. Really exited about her. Going to save money for building a barn. Comming summer 2022! Going to go to races to get my little babe exposed! Its going to be weird not competing for awhile. |

| I'm getting my round pen and arena set up at my new place so that I can get back to riding my 5 year old that has been put on the back burner. Hoping to get him going soon! Good luck to everyone! |

| I honestly don't know. I have a 27 yo gelding, who still loves his job and is healthy at the moment. I don't know what to do with him, retire or keep riding. Have another gelding who's 20. My mom rides him. I had a young horse a couple years ago, who I sold, because she needed more time than I had. That sort of broke me. 1/2 of me wants to buy another one and try again, and the other 1/2 is thinking I'd have a lot more money without another horse. But then I wonder what I'd do with myself besides get fat sitting around. We do like to hunt and fish and travel some, but my husband's vacation time is limited. So I'm just sort of hanging out in a bit of a funk. |

Location: California | In the barrel racing world... Go to more barrel races!! I have two I am seasoning and want to get them solid so I am going to go as much as possible. I also have one that I purchased in hopes that with some rehab she will come back and I am very hopeful by this summer I will be able to finally run her! I would love to be able to rodeo on one of mine by summer/fall of 2021. I am also hoping they have more rodeos this year. In the roping world... maybe attend some American qualifiers, go to some of the bigger ropings, and start entering my 5 year old! |

Location: Dubach, LA | Goals: Run a 2D time on the six year old by March. Start hauling and exhibitioning the five year old. Pattern the four year old. Do more trail riding. Go on at least two overnight rides with my husband. There. I wrote it down, so I have to do it. |

I've started using treats to encourage and reward expected behaviors. My husband laughs at me but I can hang the bridle on the horn without the horse turning a flip. |

| Hope life is a little more cooperative so I can go more. I am excited that I am breeding three mares to a son of Corona Cartel. Hoping to reduce numbers around here so selling to racing folks is the most opportunistic. |

Location: Texas | Nateracer I feel your pain. I get too frustrated it seems and wish I had another hobby or another thing I could do with horses. I have a little 8 yr old that's fun and 3D at best. Have a younger one that was running 1-2D & now is 3D. Been through all the routiines and can't seem to find anything physical wrong. Guess it's just me so that has me down. We like to travel but COVID has that restricted. I would like to hang it up but I have to have something to replace it with! |

Are you using a clicker or some kind of marker? I have started listening to Warwick Schiller's podcast, among others, and really going down the rabbit hole of force-free training. |

There are many things you can do that are different to do with your horses. Many riders are finding that after focusing on groundwork/play that their horses are coming back to ridden work with more suppleness, soundness and power, not to mention better relationships between person and horse. Just a thought. I never have been interested in that kind of thing, but my horse is on stall rest for now so I will have the perfect opportunity to try it. |

I bought a hard to catch horse with some bad habits under saddle and used treats to get beyond that. I reinforced it with a pet name for her. I yell her pet name, she can be anywhere on the farm and come running. I even give treats when riding, mount or dismount and her bad habits have completely resolved. I was told she was not suitable for a child but my grandkids are riding her. Of course they have treats.lol I learned this from a friend of mine that trains dogs. lol |

Location: Blissfully happy Giants fan!!! | I'm pretty excited to have a full trailer back again this year. Salty has been feeling really good but running all of the time is not her thing so she will be for series or membership races. I just made my 3rd run on my 8 year old. We spent almost 2 years fixing her and I have had her back on the pattern since October. Yesterday was the first time that I have asked for something more than a slow lope and I was SO pleased (no exhibition, brand new arena and she is doing great!!). We have now made it over some pretty big hurdles and the fun is really starting to come up. She will see most of the action this year and I am stoked. My 5 year old will come home from the trainer in another 6 weeks. She has been up there for the winter learning work ethic. They love her and have been teaching her to rope. I am seriously considering playing with some cows but I don't know what/when/how/where yet. But I will put her on the barrels too and that should be fun too. My job is going great and I LOVE working from home. My work/life balance is the best it has ever been. Life is good. |

| I have a coming 3 year old going to the trainer in April, and then I'm hoping to do some trail riding and small schooling shows with her to let her see some sights. Hoping to start her on the pattern this fall/next spring. I'm exicted, haven't had a young one in a long time.

Location: Texas | Horse plans for 2021.. we have four babies expected to hit the ground this year- an Epic Leader X FG, Slick By Design X Rare Bar, TR Illumniator Cash X Valiant Hero, and Mr Sassy Frenchman X Reckless Dash mares. And we are breeding three mares this spring to JL Dash Ta Heaven x rare bar mare, Blazin Jetolena x valiant hero mare, and Flingin Roses x FDF mare My third home grown baby we have raised, trained, and kept to enter clocked in the open 1D her first time to enter, and won her first 1D check a couple weeks back. Locally shes doing really well.. but in the two futurities I've entered her in, we have not done well... so I am working on that. It's not a deal breaker if she doesnt make a futurity horse, but it is a goal of mine to try and win some money at a big show with her this year. |

Location: Desert Land | I'm trying to get back in the saddle. I recently required a Mr Eye Opener daughter. We're going to flush a couple embryos out of her and then she's off to go in to training to hopefully get "granny broke" for me. I've got 5 babies due, all in May and then gotta get them all back in foal. |
