Hi! Has anyone been successful in feeding different types of hay to horses in the same paddock?
Winter is coming and the grass is drying out already where I am. We have one horse that is on fescue and alfalfa, and the other eats Bermuda. The horse on fescue has coliced before due to feed changes, so I'm too nervous to switch him to both be on Bermuda. Does anyone have any hacks or ingenious ways to keep them on different hays through winter while the grass is gone?

What do you do in that situation?

Saw this is an older thread, might be outdated for you already, but I’ll still reply. I kept two horses on different hay by giving the sensitive one his portion in a small pen for 10 minutes, then letting him back out. Super easy.
