I had my horse's hocks injected and he was on stall rest for 24 hours. Was told he could return to pasture after that with light riding for 3 days then normal routine. Well..... after I turned him back out on pasture, around 28 hours after his injections, he galloped around bucking and acting crazy for probably 5 minutes. Ugh! Hoping his silliness hasn't messed up his hock injections!?!?

I have never stalled mine after injections. Just turned them back out, given 2 grams of bute for 3 days, no riding 3 days and they do fine, I bet you are fine

The whole point of putting them in a stall (as I have had it explained) so that they are in the CLEAN area, becasuse you just injected into a joint. You would not want to (for example) turn your horse out into a manure-filled muddy corral.

But with that said, I have NEVER stalled horses after joint injection. Coffins I'm a bit more careful of. Ground needs to be dry and clean and I leave their bandages on for 24 hours, because of the simple proximinity to the ground. But hocks, nah, they get kicked out to pasture.

Your horse is likely fine.

Per my vet, the joint seals up the second the needle is pulled out post injection. BUt he does recommend not washing the horse for 24 hours.
