Location: ohio-in my own little world with pretty ponies :) | In my research I have found that Kalm Ultra by Tribute seems to be the best fit for my horses...I think.
My mare that was at the vet due to weight loss was put on Purina Strategy Healthy Edge I believe it's called.
They are only priced $1 apart, both are fairly easy for me to get.
Are these even comparable in nutrition, what they do for the horse, types of horses do best on them?
Not sure if any certain one would be a better fit. I know she is doing well on it but should she do well on the Kalm ultra? I would think so but Idk. The only reason I am even thinking of another feed is bc that's what they had and put her on.

Location: Florida.. | there is no tag of what is in the feed.. the protein and fat are fine BUT without knowing what is in it there is no way to know. find a tag or ingredients and post and I think people can help you. I would not feed a grain that I do not know what is in it and could not produce half the ingredients and also has unfavorable ingredients first in line... did you try purina active sr?its high fat and a good feed from what others are saying or keep her on what shes on if you can decide..I dont like stratagy but thats my personal opinion but tribute is new to me so id probrably go with active sr. lol.http://purinamills.com/horses/products/equine-senior-active-horse-feed/

Location: OH. IO | Im a Kalm Ultra fan.Our mares thrive on it.I cant tell you what is best for your mare, but we had a hard keeper gelding that also thrived on Ultra. I personally love the feed.I like the high fat low starch and the fact that their equine feed is made at its own seperate facility. |

Location: MD | I have several clients who feed the Kalm Ultra and I have been very impressed by it. Unfortunately, the closest place that I can get it is 2 hours away, so I am not able to feed it. |

Location: MI | We're very fortunate that Kalmbach has a plant only 10 miles from our new place. I can run over and buy directly from Kalmbach and no middle men. I have fed many feeds over the years and am a purist at heart. I have always liked oats and alfalfa and still do, but the Kalm Ultra has probiotics and prebiotics already in it. By the time I add supplements to my oat mixture I can almost feed the Ultra as cheap and its in 50 lb bags that are easier to handle. My horses are thriving and feeling really good on it. |

Location: Ohio | I am a HUGE fan of Kalm Ultra! It is a feed that I currently use. I used it in combination with Essential K to put approximately 300#'s on a new horse that I got. It is super consistent bag to bag and has a fixed ingredient formulation which I really love. Just my 2 cents!! Good luck! |

Location: Kentucky | I've been feeding Tribute for about a month now. I really like it. I feed the Kalm N EZ pellet blend. Mine comes from a plant that produces ONLY horse feed, so no chance of cross contamination. It's only about $16 a bag, and I was paying almost $25 a bag for Triple Crown. Big savings and a good feed. |

Location: Mi | I have been a Kalmbach (Tribute Feeds) dealer for over 2 yrs now. I don't think you will be dissapointed in the Kalm Ultra, I feed the horses we use it. I have a 30 yr old gelding on it and he does wonderful. Others have given you wonderful information about the product, another thing is Tribute Feeds are a fixed formula, meaning that the same amount of ingredients go into each bag EVERYTIME! Where most feed companies are not, they will give you the same % feed say its a 12% fat you will get 12% fat, but if this week corn is cheaper then oats your going to get more corn in the product because its cheaper and if next week oats are cheaper then you are going to get more oats. Where Tribiute is going to be the same ration of each ingridient. Also if you're really needing to add some weight to your horse, there is a product called K Finish you could add to the Ultra, and the K Finish is a 25% fat supplement, it will help add weight too. If I can help in anyway please feel free to PM me. Good Luck! |

| I feed the Essential K and the Ultra. I have a hard keeper and she does great on it. I have been feeding it for over 1 1/2 years now. Very cost effective as well. Can't go wrong with this feed! |
