BULLDOZER!!!!

Yes, a bulldozer.  Now nothing can stop me from discing the track or my arena.  The tractor always over-heated or got stuck, the skidsteer got stuck and so does the truck.  SO, now I have the ultimate answer!!!  I don't know why more people don't use these tracked machines.  You can pick up the older ones dirt cheap and they can go through anything.  My sand is real deep and the track gets so muddy but when I can get in there and turn it up it sure dries out faster.

Life is good!!

You can use a skidsteer to dig up your arena???????

Hmmmm.......I am thinking that high priced machine may be worth a little more to me all of a sudden!

Speaking of the fences Flipper, with the dozer I have a great deal more control to stay away from them!!!  And the visibility is great too.  With the skidsteer because of the cab I could never really see too well, had to guess and I did scar/take-down more than one fence post!!

Amber, I use the skidsteer to pull the drag with.  We have tracks for that too but the dozer is oh so much better!!

We actually have TWO dumptrucks, backhoe, dozer, skidsteer, and the tractor.

The dozer was used to load the trucks at the pit but we finally got to bring it home to retire where it's leaving over my dead body now!!!

Having your own construction company sure does come in handy!!!

Cool, my husband is wanting to buy a dozer. He started a construction company with his dad and we have a dump truck, backhoe and trackhoe. They come in handy. He actually worked up my arena with the backhoe when we didn't have a tractor around.

[/QUOTE]     I'm truly jealous!!  LOL!!!! Actually my hubby promised me that when he retires his current semi, that we can trade it in on a dump truck  FOR ME!!! Then we can have enough sand in the arena, enough gravel in the drive and enough shavings without buying bags.  Maybe I'll start my own business hauling shavings!   You go girl... and think of me next time you fire up your dozier!

He really is a great guy.  You have to understand the mentality of an "equiptment operator" though.  They feel that there is a machine for every job to save time.  He is at a very young age one of the best operators in the state.  We have worked on some big jobs together already (like our local Target store) big jobs that he is in complete control of.  He could have ten trucks hauling to him and he would never fall behind and have the grade to within hundreths of an inch in two foot lift incriments just by sight and feel.

He makes sure that I get a lot of machine time on the jobs and that I know how to run everything wether he's around or not.  It's fun to have the stuff at home because leaps and bounds of progress get made with all of this stuff at your fingertips.

He may be hard to get in gear sometimes, but gifts like this help me over-look those shortcomings!!

Now, that's love, when your man gives you a dozer!  I'm so jealous, all I have is a Kubota and a dump truck (1965 Ford 1-Ton that used to haul garbage and my hubby bought and repainted bright red!)  I could certainly use one to clear all the hedge trees off my property!
