Elite Veteran Posts: 762 Location: Gainesville, GA	I found a canker sore in my horse mouth. Only one but I have read that might be herpes. I went to Lynn Mckenzie's clinic and without me even telling her about the sore she said my horse looked like he had herpes. He was very sore and she said he had all the classic signs. So I have started him on the silver lining herbs for herpes and the #24 Immune booster. But my question is this......Is this a new strain of herpes because everything that I have read on the internet doing a google search about herpes in horses talks about respiratory trouble and coughing. My horses doesnt have any of those symptoms. Also...if I am treating him for herpes....should I also have him on lysine?

Blessed Location: Here	It is not contagious it is not a new strain.... The syndrome was recognized about 10 to 15 years ago by Dr. Marvin Cain.... Founder of the IVAS.
