I just had to tell everyone about last evening.  Went to a Public Works conference at one of our fancier hotels last night.  The buffet table was beautiful and the entree was Rocky Mountain Oysters.  I had a couple of beers and was rolling  watching some of these women finding out what they were eating

OHH to funny tehaha. I loooooovvvvvve rocky mountain oysters. I was so dissapointed when we went to rubbering the calves when they were born. Much easier on the calves but no more oysters. I like mine deep fried in beer batter served with horseradish coctail sauce. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmm!!

These were in a real good batter with lemon wedges and coctail sauce.  I thought this one lady was going to puke right then and there.  She was just popping them in her mouth like candy and the look in her eyes was totally priceless.You talk about east meeting west

I like them in ranch dressing. Of course, I'd probably eat my own hair if it had ranch dressing on it.

Some city people owned a ranch that my dad worked on. We branded the late calves most of which had been born outside. Well I whipped a batch for the rich city folks to enjoy, needless to say I had quite a meal. They wouldn't touch 'em the chickens. Don't know what they are missing.javascript:smilie('52','');javascript:smilie('52','');

Have you ever thrown them on the fire and wait until they popped?  We used to stretch the calves out and cut them and the kids that helped would save them in a coffe can and pop them up in the evening.  One lady last night asked me what they were and I told her 'looks like some kind of dark meat chicken'.  You would have gotten the biggest kick watching these people last night.  I had new boots on and couldn't stay all nightj.....my feet hurt and felt like I was foundering

Maybe you were foundering from all that good food. J/K. Ya we used to throw them on the branding stove. They go great with beer that we would sneak out of the beer cooler in the back of the truck. Boy I miss those days. I would have loved to have seen the look on some of those peoples faces. Too funny. Since we are on the topic...... I love to share this with poor sheltered people. When we would go to dockings, I was to little to hold the big strong lambs so I learned how to be the docker. Try explaining that one. Hee hee. There expressions were priceless when I would tell that story.javascript:smilie('17','');javascript:smilie('17','');

javascript:smilie('52','');javascript:smilie('52',''); I need to quit laughing long enough to catch my breath and to seriously type. I think you are talking about the cats. You get an old boot. Now tehaha make sure I am telling this right. You get your barn cat. You might want gloves. You stuff your barn cat in the boot head first so that all that is sticking out is his rear end. I don't know how the surgical prodedure goes from here. Wether they are like a horse or a calf. javascript:smilie('69','');javascript:smilie('69','');

You might want gloves and a very strong long sleeve shirt to neuter the cats!!!  I did actually know someone who tried this and it got pretty ugly when the cat got loose!!!

Mountain Oysters are heaven --- got two huge bags of them in my freezer just waiting on a special occasion to pop up!!!  Only the best in Oklahoma!

Yep, you've got it!!  I personally prefer the vet, but my husband has done it the old way!!  Rattlesnake is actually pretty good if you can get past the fact that you're eating a snake

okay, I'm from Missouri and I have lived here all my life.  Well, I had never even heard of rocky mountain oysters until I met my fiance, Colt.  Well, he loves them and there is no where around here that you can get them.  I was wondering if any of you knew where I could buy some.  His family is still in Wyoming and I know that he gets really homesick and so I'm thinking maybe this would at least give him a little piece of home. Plus, I've never tried them and he swears that they're awesome, so I guess I'm kinda curious too.  I was just wondering if they like sold them at like grocery stores or something where ya'll are from and if I could mail you a check and have you send me some.  I know it's kind of a weird request, but I know that he would like it.  Thanks guys!

Boy I have never seen them in a grocery store before.  To tell you the truth I'm not sure how perishable they are  The Restaurants in town serve them and got to get them from somewhere....Let me see what I can find out!!
