| I'm not sure if anyone else has done this... I have a beautiful Black Gelding. He always wants to rub on the barbwire fence, anyway, He had a cut that needed to be drained, we used some Hydrogen Peroxide to clean out the wound. Yes I used Hydrogen Peroxide ...now my horse has a huge light brown spot on his beautiful Black coat....oh the stupid things we do |

Location: Oregon | I was in my tack room and had a cut on the palm/thumb of my hand and picked up the dark brown bottle (no label - thinking it was peroxide) to douse my hand and it was iodine .... I wore iodine all over my hand for a week!!! it looked like a dark wine splash birth mark! |

Location: Missouri | On the first day that I met my ex-boyfriend, him, me my friend Kim and his friend Robbie went out to my dad's new farm. Well, it was a warm night with a full moon and so we all decided to go riding. Well, Kim and Robbie were gonna ride double on Jackson and Ryan and I were gonna ride double on Dakota. Well, I had brought one of my saddles but I had to put a girth on it, so I just threw it on there. When I hooked the girth on the right side, I only got it through on of the staps to the off billet. Of course, it was late at night and I was ready to get going, so I didn't even bother to double check anything. Well, I got up first and didn't have any problem, i just thought maybe the saddle was a little loose. But then Ryan went to get on, and the side of the off billet that wasn't attatched came though and the saddle few off...with me in it. If was horrible. Yup...I'm a moron... |

| I have on similar to the billet. I was at the barn I used to board at, around 20 boarders and I went to pull my cinch up tight and the latigo broke, I flew backwards into the trailer, and bonked my head, so I was left laying there with the piece of latigo in my hand and my horse laughing at me. I had a headache for 2 days. Good work, huH? |

Hubby has been spending $$$ to lighten up his race car...oooohhhh...all new lighter parts will make him go faster. I made the little bitty mistake of asking him if he was going to lose the 15 lbs of "extra love" he has and wouldn't that help. It was chilly around my house for a while...LOL |

Location: Missouri | Unfortunately, I have another one. When I got my first horse, I was 7. Well, he got an eye infection and the vet told me to use a sponge and soak the sponge with water and then rinse his eye out with water until he got there. Well, the only place we had to tie the horse to was the fence and so I tied him to one of the rails. As soon as I started trying to rinse his eye out, he reared back and pulled the board off the posts. So, he was running around the place with a board attatched to his lead rope. What make it worse was that he cracked me in the head with the board first. Another time when I first started running barrels, I had on a sleeveless shirt and one of those bras that clasp in the front, well when I came out of the second barrel, my horse tripped and it ripped my bra and while I was running home, it started coming out the sleeve of my shirt |

Location: Walking in the spiderwebs... | As far as the hair color thing, I actually did this on purpose! I was 18 and fixing to have my Sr. pictures made. I went and got my hair re-highlighted and that made an idea pop into my head. I went to Wal-Mart and purchased some of the hair bleach and streaked my mares mane!!!! She just stood there while it was setting like she knew what was going on. I removed when it had lifted to a tiger orange! She looked AWESOME!!! Well, like a tiger! All of my rodeo friends wanted to do it! But when my dad saw it!!!!OMG I thought it was the end of the world! So in my Sr. pictures Jetta has a tiger mane!!!!! It eventualy faded out and she has here original black mane, but it took about 2 years. |

| You know how your horses teeth look kinda brown streaked in places? well I tried brushing my horse's teeth one day to get them pretty & white. It didn't take long for my horse to bite down on the brush! One or two clamps, & it was flattened! Never could get him to say aaauuuhhhh! |

Location: Illinois | Okay so not something I did, but I have to tell on my hubby. He was being nice and trying to help me out by riding my other horse. I handed him splint boots and bell boots and asked if he remembered how to put them on, he said yes, so I didn't think anything about it. We got ready to go into the pasture and I looked down and he had put the bell boots on completely backwards so the velcro was at the back and the protective part covered the whole front of the hoof! |

Location: the land of dust & sticks | My horse is a sorrel with a flaxen mane and tail but his mane was starting to turn more strawberry so i wanted to dye it back for our state show......so here i go to walmart all excited......i buy some hair dye and bring it home......brought it home and applied it to his mane..he's just standing there like what the heck??? so anyways needless to say the dye didnt work....it only dyed the roots...¿?¿ go figure but i thought i was a neat experiment....... then even better......we had a "black" horse...he wasnt a true black and he had that brown tint...so my mom decides to die his whole body w/ some kinda of shampoo stuff...!! haha.... but even better than those 2....my mom was leading a colt through our barn one day and there was a tarp hanging at the end of the barn...tarp hung on the saddle horn....he jerked away from her and took off.....looked like BATMAN or rather BATHORSE going across the field!! he tore down 2 gates and ran through 2 fences before the tarp finally hung on a tree limb.....amazingly he didnt have a scratch on him!!! those are just a few of our "dumb moments"....mom says we should have a video camera around at all times....we could become millionares for some of the things that happen around here!!! |

Location: Texas Gulf Coast | I have had someone ask us if we used streaked one of our horses manes. She is a dun and her mane is fluffy in the first place, it stops at the bottom of her neck and sticks out about 2 inches all the way down. It is a darker brown than her body in most places but she has red and blonde looking streaks in it that are natural and make her look real nice. I will try to post some pics now that she has lost her winter coat and looks more like a horse and less like a rug! Shaina |
