Location: Desert Land | I bought a 2001 Exiss Event SS 300 3h GN trailer. This was my first experience with Exiss and until this thread I wasn't aware people disliked Exiss so much. I got it VERY cheap because I have done a lot of work for a friend/client and she hooked me up on it. She lives off some nasty washboard dirt roads and used the hellllll out of this thing and it seems to have held up very well. I took it to a trailer repair guy and had him go over it. We replaced a bunch of minor stuff - tie rings, bridle racks, running lights, etc. But the structure is sound, floors are in great condition. Over than a fender that has some dings and some scratches from horses that had been tied up, it's in really good shape. All in all, I really like the trailer. I own it, no payments and I think it's going to work for what I want it for. |

the 2001's were still the decent quality. It wasn't until after the merge into Universal Trailers in 2003 that the craftsmanship started going downhill. |

Location: Willows, CA | All kidding aside, there is a place for these trailers. If you do not haul a lot, they work out fine for many people. For road warriors, moving up to a premium brand seems to be worth the difference in price. Most of the people I know that have them, and really like them, don't put a lot of miles on them. Most people who have had a negative experience with them have been true road warriors. Like they say there is a butt for every saddle. |

Location: Bastrop, Texas | They have a horrible reputation for being crappy trailers. This thread was the first time I've ever heard anything good about them. Harts, on the other hand, are among the best, from what I've heard. They are right up there with Platinum, Elites, 4 Star, and Bloomers. |

Location: sunny california | I was happy they had such a bad rep. I could have never afforded what I wanted in another brand and got what I wanted very cheap. My hubby is very handy (he knows plumbing, electrical welding, wood working and heating and air so everything!) he did some work and now it is a nice trailer. |

| I bought a exiss 2006 trailer that was special ordered by one of there dealers with a 14' lq. Extra wide stalls. I havent gone much, i have been to vet more. My gelding loves his 40inch stalls. Its great i,love those extra large stalls. I would never have paid for that. I bet you when i bought the trailer. The trailer had not,been used 30 times. The back look new and the front looked and smelled new. |

| I live up in north east and we cant show all year around. I go usually to about 6/7 ovenight shows a year and until recently there where only shows about 75 miles from me. 7/8 years ago we had lots of local shows. They are starting to come back as everything is in cycles. I would use my trailer more. but, no more than i use my trailer it will last me a long time as i can fix a lot of things for,thenprice difference betwwen mynexiss and a 4 star or platinum of the same age and size. I can saymthat this is a nice enougn trailer if i where to,sell it some of the naysayers would be there trying to buy it. Everything in it cabinets where an upgrade and size of stalls. Imhave a big closet that 2 people can fit in. It is a really nice trailer imlooked for 2 years. I carried a friend with me and she told me if it had been a four horse she would have fought me over it. |

Location: Windoming | I sure get tired of people bashing Exiss trailers. I bought my 3 horse with living quarters 13 years ago. It probably has been towed 80,000 miles. I'll put it up against any make there is. This trailer is in great shape with very little upkeep. You take care of them, you'll have no problems. I'm sure glad my horses don't know they're being hauled in an inferior trailer, they'd probably start refusing the gate to get even........

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | I never owned one, but a lot of folks around here did in the late 90s/early 2000s because there was a dealer a couple of hours away. What I remember was lots of drop windows that wouldn't stay up, and warped axles causing tire wear and blowout issues. From what I saw, I was never interested in owning one. Our roads here are terrible, so that may have had something to do with it. You hardly see that brand anymore in this area. |

Location: mi | My Niece pulls one. I think it is a 98 or 99. No LQ but it has been a good trailer for the price. She did have to have a leak fixed in the dressing room. Cost her $150 to have the entire roof resealed. That was about 5 or 6 years ago and has not leaked since. No it is not a top of the line trailer but it is also priced accordingly. And has worked great for her. |

Location: Edge of T-town | We bought a 2013 and have been extremly happy with it. For people that use them on the weekends, it is hard to justify paying another mortgage payment on a horse trailer to own a platinum, elite, twister, bloomer, etc. I have seen NFR qualifers have alot of problems with bent axels, etc on high dollar trailers like Bloomer. Just like cars/trucks, some may have shady craftmanship. You see it in all brands. And like other posters said, no trailer is going to hold up well in a collision. |

| I know that my big thing was that nothing was "rounded" compared to my "97 Hart. My Hart has all rounded corner even the fenders but we do use our trailer besides just horses, we do put the Harley's in the back and go camping/riding etc.
I think what we are going to do is see if we can shop this floorplan to Hart and see what they would charge me. |

Location: Oklahoma | I've owned many different brands from 4 star, Hart, Sundowner, Sooner, ect. I've always shied away from Exiss as I'd always heard they were crap. I live in OK and they are everywhere! I ended up buying a 4 horse 01 model Event with 4' short wall, shower, sink, walk thru. It is extremely nice and after going over it thoroughly, it is very well built and reall surprised me! It's by no means a "cracker box" or "tin can"! It's heavy duty with great welds, lots of framing and bars/braces underneath that are close together, and all in all, I'm ecstatic that I got such a great deal on it! I think you have to check them all out carefully regardless of the brand. Who know's who was working on the assembly line any particular day;)?? I know they have certain criteria that each company meets but again, it's individuals that are on the line building them every day. I do know that Sooner, Exiss, 4 Star, and one other brand are now made on the same assembley line and owned by Universal trailers which makes it a lot less likely that I'd buy any of those now. |

Universal is Exiss and Sooner. 4 Star is not even close.
Id not buy a "newer" 4star or a few of the newer ones... but thats just me..I hear and see they arent made like they used to be.. imho

Location: USA | I have an 2005. We have used the hell out of it, been all over the US, pulled dividers and hauled 5 horses in it to rodeos ( It's a 4 horse) Are there things that I would change, you bet. But, for the most part, it has held up well. Most the "issues" are just wear and tear, and such. But no major problems. There are definitely things I like better on other more expensive trailers, but all in all it has been very good to me. And I do not baby it. |

Location: My happy place | I have a 2004 Event Limited with 6' Sierra LQ, we bought new in 2005. It has never given us a problem, been a great little trailer. If it had a bigger LQ we would keep it, love having no trailer payments. In shopping for a newer trailer I see many that look like rolling tin cans, I wouldn't want to have a wreck in any of them.
To the person who gets upset when people bash Exiss trailers. My Daddy always said ......... "They never judge the parking lot and it's much more important what you pull out of it." I have seen many fancy trailers pull in and just laugh and what some people ride.

Location: North Dakota | I have a 2003 Exiss 3-horse slant gooseneck that I bought used a couple years ago. Overall, I like it alot and it's been a great trailer.
It does not have living quarters and the only thing I have noticed is that when it is pouring rain, the very side seams will leak a bit of water in them. Haven't had a chance to caulk them up yet, but that should do the trick.
Can't complain otherwise.
