dianeguinn - 2009-11-04 12:09 PM How can you have 1/2, 1/2, whole splits if it's BBR?? I thought you had to go with BBR format, which is all half seconds?
I believe the last OCA was BBR and they are 1/2, 1/2, whole???? I don't know the rules, just pointing out that I have been to other races with this format............

Well, then how would they give BBR points, since their divisions are all halves? I thought the reason BBR's drew the numbers was because everyone knows what the splits would be and what the payout would be.....if it's BBR sanctioned, I would think you would have to go by BBR rules, and couldn't be changing the format to suit yourself.....I could be wrong, but I'd sure ask if it's going to be BBR.....(and that's because I personally hate the 1/2, 1/2, whole format....I think it's too big a crack in the 3d personally).

When BBR gets the results from the race, they will then change it to their format. Like say you went to a 4D show and you had a 4D time, but in BBR it might fall under a 5D time..Does that make since Diane??

When I talked to Ross about it she was ok with my format. They do change it to half second splits in order to get their points correct. The payout I use is directly off the BBR producer forms that I receive from them. I have followed their rules and don't change anything to suit myself. The main reason I even put on these races is to help those who are scrambling to get their BBR's in before the end of the year. Sure isn't to make everyone happy or make any money for myself. LOL

......I for one really appreciate you putting these races on! I need them badly just to have somewhere close to get back with my horse and get my BBR's in without spending a ton of money in diesel
Show Format. Better Barrel Races will consider for endorsement only shows offering a Futurity/Derby/Sweepstakes format or an Open divisional format. The times splits between the divisions for a 4D format show may be either 0.5 - 0.5 - 0.5 second splits or 0.5 - 0.5 - 1 second splits, and splits for a 5D format must be 0.5 second between all divisions. The number of divisions and the splits used are left to the discretion of the producer, but must be included in the show advertising.

Ok, here is the deal, I just got off the phone with Don and he said he will have the outdoor pen ready for me, but we will have to run with the gate closed. So, that will mean, I set the timers closer to the barrels so you guys can get your horses shut down without getting hurt. Don takes real good care of me and my races and I know he will get the ground worked up for us "damd ole barrel racers." LOL

Ok, thanks.
You are very welcome. I STILL wanna sneak my daughter into one of your clinics....
Well, I'd love to have her. I have one in New Mexico in January, one in Searcy, AR in March, and one in OkC in April. I may see you tomorrow nite....I need an outside run. :)

Oh man, I'm pretty sure hubby won't let me drive to NM or AR. LOL The one in OKC may be a possibility, if I don't let her go to the BBR finals. We'll see. Do you ever do any one on one outside of a clinic?
