This is what she said in the Barrel Racing Report:
Custom made bit from Todd Page of Henrietta, OK. It is basically a D ring with a 4 inch dogbone in middle. It has a 2-2 1/2 inch piece on each side, smooth mouthpiece, with a 1/4 of a rock grinder rowel on each side of the bit where it is attached to the D Ring. You have to be careful with it, but if used right it really works. Feed: Dynamite PGR

The bit in the picture is not the one that is described. I have seen the bit that she talks about in the interview and that is not it. The bit in the picture (not sure about maker) but it is a one to one (purchase is the same length as the shank) ratio bit with a small gag with no chinstocking stuffer it.
edited cause I just read it back and must have been typing while I was asleep!!!! :)

The 393 picture is LeeAnn Rust and Harley. After the CFR, after the interview that you quoted she changed from the Todd Page bit to this single snaffle lifter bit for the Thomas and Mack setup. Yes she normally rides the Todd Page bit.....since Harley was 6, and after Vegas will go back to it. This was a last minute change that she thought would benefit her and Harley.
Oh, and the "rock grinder" has been way way way buffed down, it is basically just a bump there. I have a bit like it and fits a horses mouth different being so wide, but has a really nice feel to it and they seem to like it.

The "rock grinder" is pretty dang cool. It is not as bad as it sounds. Gena has ridden it on my mare that she trained and tunes for me, I really need one of those bits for my collection!

Thank you!! Would like to see this "rock grinder" bit.. seems soo interesting.
Impressed how the style has changed.. more riders are running in a loomis type bit, or a simplicity type bit.
I would tooo!!!! I am riding a Loomis Draw on my mare that really gets down and cows a barrel, it keeps her shoulder nice a square.....but this rock grinder bit sounds like it has a little more bite tro it to keep one up!

Todd doesn't have a web page......he trains cutters and "piddles" with bits on the side. I'll take a picture tomorrow and if the "pinkcowgirl" will post it it, as I'm not real handy at that stuff....lol....

I have a picture of lee Ann's bit, I helped her get ready every perf at the CFR but it's on my iPhone which I can't upload to here, like she said its very buffed down, I had to feel it cause I have never seen one before and it just felt like a little bump!
