Hi! I was wondering if anyone knew a place or anyone in Idaho that would take a younger retired mare? My pro rodeo mare stifled about a year and a half ago so I decided to retire her while she was still sound and just use her as a brood mare. She lost her baby one month before full term which looked like the baby wrapped up its umbilical cord and cut off oxygen and blood supply causing it it be bored dead because I know a few days before the baby was still alive and kicking big time in my mare's belly. When she sluffed the baby, it tore a small hole in her uterus wall causing the mare to now be sterile according to my vet. I do not have the time or money to support a 15 year old pasture pet and have been looking for a new home for her that won't end in her being put down. My vet from Oklahoma thought that the tear could maybe be fixed so she could have babies again so if someone wanted to put money into her she might be able to have babies again. I personally am not interested in owning a brood mare anymore after the heart break I went through with her losing her baby the first time. Please PM or responded here if you know anyone who would want her. I am giving her away for free and paid $75,000 for the mare back in 2005.

How heart breaking for you and the mare, hope that you can find her a forever home, if you were closer I would put her out to pasture with my others that are retired. Good luck to you and your mare

By the way, this mare is located in Idaho not Oklahoma. So again, if anyone knows of anyone needing a pasture pet for free, let me know :)

If you could find a way to get her to KY I would take her! Which I know is probably impossible!

Hope you find something!

Same here. If you can find her a ride to LA, I'd take her.
