Location: North Ga. Mountains | Caldwell saddle owners, who has the rocket tree and/or the ultra rocket? How do you know which one to buy, without putting each on your horse? How many horses really require an 8" gullet? |

Location: Red Raiderland | I have a Rocket and have found it fits all the horses but one mare that is mutton-withered, which she would use a ProMax. I think the gullet on a Rocket fits most horses. Maybe 10% would use an UR. |

Agree.....I don't see too many that have to go wider than the ProMax or Rocket. I think with one of each you could fit about 80% plus or more horses with some padding changes. ProMax being more for flat backed horses and Rocket more withered horses.
I actually have a pretty darn big gelding (15.3h/1250lbs) and I have to shim the Rocket in the front. But, it fits him well from mid back through the loin. Whereas the TG was way too narrow (but fits my young narrow horse). So, they are plenty wide for the majority of horses. |

I agree. I just don't think there are that many barrel horses that need an ultra Remember your saddle pad with a good fitting saddle you don't need that 1"+ pad |

| I have an ultra rocket. brought it when he was 4 and got it when he was 5. He is 16.2 and stout. Also has high withers. the ultra works on him but also have used a rocket and it was fine as well. |

Location: North Ga. Mountains | If I get an ultra rocket and it's too wide, is it bad to use a thicker pad? I am close to their shop, but the few I've found are used on here. I would feel obligated to buy a new one from them if I get her to look at my horse. |
