A good read regarding the NFR leaving Vegas.  I have heard Dalls, TX and also Kissimee, FL (Orlando) are both in the hunt.  OKC is not in the picture at all.  I hope it stays in Vegas.

The commentator Jeff Medders owns Geronimo Productions that produces the GAC show for the NFR.  He assured us last night that nothing will change.  He still has a 3 hour production and you will still see every run of every event.

He's on FB and Twitter.  Stop speculating and look further into what's behind the show. It's not GAC...it's Jeff.

Well that is good news. Thanks for the info. I have watched all of the performances thus far on GAC & nowhere did I see mention of Jeff or his production company, but I didn't read everything that rolled across the screen. I am not sure how we would have known to look further. With the limited information given in that article posted it left room for speculation. I must have missed mention of Jeff and his production company in the article from the PRCA site about moving to CBS sports. When it switched to GAC, I don't remember mention of Jeff or his company being a part of it then either, but I forget easily. LOL I like Jeff. I knew he had a company just had no idea it had anything to do with the NFR. Since he has been a sportscaster for years since his Tulsa days, I just assumed he was sportscaster only here.

So GAC is still doing their rodeo coverage shows. Doesn't mean the NFR isn't changing networks.

Let me clarify...Jeff will still be producing the show that is going to be on CBS Sports just like he is producing the show that is on GAC this year.

Gotcha.

I'm still skeptical. CBSSN still airs college basketball games and such. How are they going to guarantee they don't run over on time and we still miss some rodeo? (just a hypothetical question, not directed at anyone personally

If they do run it 'live' and not on a delay, I wish they would consider a split screen format. NASCAR TV does this. For example, interviews, they may show someone on the track on one screen and an interview in the other. During the commercials, sometimes they utilize 'side by side' track action in one screen and the commercial in the other. I've gotten to know a few people who work in the production side of TV and they have told me that sponsors have to be on board with the whole split screen thing and not all of them are. I think if rodeo would consider doing this split screen format, we may not miss as much. I don't know if they will but maybe could give it a try.

That just is something you can't control with 2 live events going on. I went through the same thing about a month ago. Was waiting for a live race and a live basketball game went into OT. Conflicts happen when it's basketball or football season.
