Ive had my rescue on the mm for a while now. I absolutely love the results on him. But hes stopped eating it. He will not eat his grain if I put it in it. Ive tried beet pulp mixed in and also healthy coat. He can sniff it out no matter what amount I put in his mix. He literally hates it! I want to keep him on it because his results were amazing but any tips on getting him to actually eat it up??

I have been feeding it to my gelding for quite a while and love the results.  He still eats it with no problems. You might check with Bob or Wyoming Barrel Racer for some hints.

I feed it and a few other THE supps to a couple of horses. I have never had trouble getting mine to eat anything in their feed because I add Liquid 747 a vitamin and mineral supp that is molasses based to the sweet over powers everything. It's pretty cheap. $20 or less by the gallon.

I suggest something like that or alfalfa pellets or a few soaked cubes. Mine won't eat anything with beet pulp in it. Something strong smelling to combat the herby smell of the THE.

Haha! Funny you say that. I have the pokiest most laid back horses. I have a 3yo, 5yo & 10yo and of the 3 the 3yo is the pokiest. As my 5yo has gotten older she has found more spark but I think she has leveled off. When I say spark I mean perks up and has pep in her step going in the pen still flat footed LOL. I just want to make sure they have as much energy and feel as good as they can. I know the 747 has a lot of sugar in it and no I don't like that part but it also has a ton of vits and minerals and amino acids ect. I feed Renew Gold which has none in it so I just wanna make sure they have it all. The 3yo doesn't get MM neither does the 10yo. The 3yo is still just on MSM because she doesn't get rode hard at all and the 10yo is currently on Falmoxide gonna switch to JointPLUS though for $ reasons. The MM has been a life saver for my 5yo though. I figure they'll pee out whatever they can't use. I'm not over doing selenium so I'm safe there.

I put a little bit of vegetable oil in my grain and shake it up to coat it. The. I add the MM and shake it up again. Mine slicks it up. (And he looks awesome by the way!)

I do use healthy coat and I make sure and really coat his grain before I add the MM. hes on BlueBonnet Omega Force too. He came to me really super skinny and I got good weight on him with the grain but after I started the mm is when his transformation just took off! I got so excited about it i want to start my other 2 on it. Wish I could post photos but I cant from my phone. I even tried half dose of the mm thinking I could split them up but he still turns his nose up at it.

Are you sure that the feed you are useing is good, could he not be liking his feed. Just a thought
How long ago did he start this not eating it?

He loves his grain. When I dont put the mm in he scarfs it right up. First one done with his feed. Id say he wasnt particularly pleased when I started the mm but he ate it... slowly.. then started leaving more n more feed untouched to leaving all of it.

You could try splitting it up for a bit so he get 2 half scoops a day. Have you checked the feed to see if it is the problem instead? Did you try putting apples and carrots in there? Bran mash? Applesauce? Maybe add some molasses?  Usually if I do atleast one of these I can get  my horse to eat just about anything.  Good luck!

The mare I have on MM is the pickiest horse I have ever dealt with.  She would just refuse to eat.  I finally just left that feed in there until she got hungry enough to eat it. Now she eats it, although it is slowly, without leaving any.

I had to go through her being picky again when I added some additional ulcer meds to her feed.

I tried again this morning feeding. I used a little extra soaked beet pulp and only added half a dose of the MM. along with a scoop of nu image all mixed together. And he went for it :-) guess I will just continue to break his dosage up like that. I could still smell the MM but he didn't seem to mind it too bad this time.
Thanks for all the replies
