I have a horse that stocks up bad any time he has to be stalled.  I have tried the Equi Flexsleeves and didn't like them (1. too hard to get on/off,  2. still stocked up even with them on).  I am not confident in my ability to put standing wraps on.  I worry about getting them on too tight or not put on evenly.  I have searched the forum for Back On Track, BOT, PHT, magnets, etc. and read until I am blue in the face.  I am looking for personal experience/feedback with anything that you have used that has kept your horse from stocking up.  I know stocking up is just temporary and it goes away once I get him out and ride him or turn him out.  But I have to believe it's not good for his legs and would like to be able to do something to keep it from  happening.  Thanks.

My dad's mounted shooting horse stocks up when stalled also. So every night at shoots I rub his legs down with sore no more linament & wrap with the PHT 3n1 wraps. He does not stock up when I stick with doing this & performs great.

Since you don't feel comfortable warping, I suggest trying the bot quick wraps, they have reduced swelling on injured horses, I don't have any that stock up so cannot say for that.

Also look into sore no more poultice, it is messy to put on I use gloves, and you either have to brush off or hose off, I hose mine, I had one with an acute bow (small) I applied the SNM poultice and the next day her leg was tight and clean. (Vet could still feel the bow but said very little damage due to the use of poultice.

So now the big question is PHT or BOT.  I know....  question has been asked & debated a LOT, and yes I have read the searches.  Thanks Sarah for the PHT feedback.  Has anyone had success with using the BOT for stocking up?   I have the sore no more linament.  Am really looking for something that is easy on/off because many times I have them stalled while it is raining, then it clears up and I decide to let them out, then it starts again and I decide to stall them again, etc.

Does anybody think the softride boots may help with the stocking up???  Maybe the additional frog pressure would help the circulation?

My mom has a mare that stocks up really bad. She's taken to putting BOT quick wraps on her every time she's stalled. That seems to be the only thing that really works for her.

BOT is easy to use quick wraps and very reasonably priced. I have a set of 4 wraps for every horse :)

Do the BOT wraps actually prevent stocking up and has this been your own personal experience?

Do the PHT wraps actually prevent stocking up and has this been your own personal experience?

I know what the claims are, but am looking for other's actual experiences where you have used them for this and it has worked!  Thanks

For those of  you that are just stating your preference i.e. BOT, PHT without any explanation...  have you had personal experience with them in PREVENTING stocking up???  And if so, could you PLEASE state that the product you used (PHT or BOT) did indeed PREVENT stocking up ON A HORSE THAT PREVIOUSLY HAD THIS ISSUE?   Thank you!

(Sorry, but I just don't want to spend a lot of money on something that isn't going to solve my problem.

The first thing I do if I have a horse that stocks
Up is detox the kidneys. I use BOT wraps on my mare. They have prevented her from stocking up. I spray her with sore no more and put the BOT on her

My mom has a mare that stocks up really bad. She's taken to putting BOT quick wraps on her every time she's stalled. That seems to be the only thing that really works for her.

My mare stocks up too unless she has her BOT's on.

I wanted to report back for anyone that may be interested...

I bought a pair of the BOT Quick Wraps yesterday.  Kept my horses stalled last night due to a thunderstorm that came thru overnight.  I put the Quick Wraps on the back legs of the horse that stocks up.  When I took them off this morning...  no stocking up!!!   The legs weren't super tight, but at least they didn't look like tree trunks.  So I am convinced they helped.  Hope this info helps anyone else with this issue.
