I'm riding this horse for a client/friend, I don't usually do this because I generally ride my own colts and sell them at a young age, BUT she is a friend so I accepted.

Here is the background:
She bought this horse as a weanling with the intention of starting him herself and using him for play days. She paid $8000 for him as he is a direct son of frenchmans guy. She gelded him and waited till the summer of his three year old year to start riding him, put him back to pasture (she has 2 kids and a full time job) rode him again the next summer and so on until his fifth year when she sent him to a trainer for a month. He went back out to pasture and is now coming six, she sent him to me and I've had him for 30 days. The gal that rode him last summer put a pretty good start on him, and I've been able to take him far in the past month. He rides nice with a low headset, very soft in the face, know his leads, has a pretty spin with good speed behind it, counter arcs in a circle and learns quickly. He's very lightly started on the pattern just walking and trotting and learning where to be and where not to be. I haven't taken him to town yet, but she told me that the trainer last summer packed him a lot.

Here are some details about the horse:
He's 14.2, sorrel with a blaze, a good width but very long bodied. I've never opened him up to see how fast he is. He has a nice temperament, easy to blanket load handle. Good ground manners, and no buck.

The owner is hoping to get $20,000.00 I feel this is high but Im no expert. We are located in the northwest. Thanks for your input

Here is his pedigree

I would bet she should be much closer to $10K.  $20K is really swinging for the fence IMO.

Has he been ran?  Because he is a gelding and beyond futurity age, I don't think being a son of FG brings much clout anymore.  Price for a broke gelding, I would say 5-7?  If she wants 20k, he better be placing up there at some bigger jackpots.
