I've heard that the products can't be used in certain temps but also have heard it doesn't matter, because people haul in the boots and the sheets say they can be used year round. Any input on this is appreciated

They reflect the horses heat back to the horse- if it is 95 degrees out, and the horse is already hot- they probably wouldn't be a great choice.
