| Which Oxy-Gen products do you feed and why? I'm just doing some research and looking to switch...Thanks in advance. |

Secondly, could you give us more info on what products your horse needs? For example are you looking for an over all supplement, ulcer protections, calming, etc?
Maybe a little more info on what you are switching from would help as well.   |

Location: Missouri | Before starting Oxy-Gen or any other product, be sure to read the labels! Most products contain a lot of feed filler by-products which are worthless as far as supplements go. Make sure you look at the ingredient list to see what is in there how much and remember they list the products from most to least amount. Make sure you are getting your monies worth and don't use a product just because so and so endorses it! And remember it may work on some horses but not all.
That being said I do not use Oxy-gen products, I think they are overpriced and not a lot of supplemental value.(that is my opinion!) |

| I've used Oxy-Gen in the past. Oxy-Gen Xtreme Pro B was my choice for joint protection. It was costly, but I liked that it had Glucosamine Sulfate. Most only have the HCI, and I've read studies indicating that the Sulfate is better absorbed by the body. I went a few years without competing, so I had stopped using it, and it appears it isn't even available any more. You can buy straight Glucosamine Sulfate from Platinum to add in that ends up being leaps and bounds cheaper.
I also used their Performance Mare Product. One of my Mares was experiencing a good deal of discomfort during her cycles, but can't be on anything with Raspberry leaves in it as she has bad reactions to it.the Performance Mare Product was the only one I could find that didn't have the leaves, and it worked for her. Again, it was costly, but it was worth it to keep her comfortable. I finally found a product from Animed with the same ingredients and a fraction of the cost that I switcher her over to.
I started using THE products and love them! I ordered a custom blend for one of my horses. I love only having to worry about one bag of supplement, as opposed to many different ones to cover my needs. I also couldn't believe how much product I got for the price. They also sent me a few free samples to try, as well as in-depth information on their supplements/ingredients. I was impressed!
There are honestly so many different options out there. The best thing to do is just look at ingredients and spend some time comparing. I was happy with the Oxy-Gen products, but the cost just wasn't worth it to me when there are other great supplements that are easier on my wallet. |

I second this !!! I did try one of their "calming" products and had the opposite effect on my mare. It made her an out of control nervous WRECK for about 3 hours. Normally she ponies great. She was trying to run off and drag the other horse I pony her off of. Saddled her and she was psycho. We made the worst run we will ever make. |
