https://abc13.com/society/transgender-barrel-racer-fears-exclusion-f...

I logged into my yahoo and this is the first story to pop up. Why would a transgender be excluded? Both men and women compete in barrels so why would this be an issue? Lol! Am I missing something? Is it because of the WPRA?

It doesn’t make a dam bit of difference in the grand scheme of things right now, but if enough people bellyache about it, the issue will take on a life of its own.

I think you are right.. I read more into it. Rules are rules and shouldn't be bent for that.. it's not like he cant go to a billion other races right? I'm not familiar with all the WPRA rules so I'm sure that's what the issue is. Originally I didnt catch that it was sanctioned like that, my bad.

The event promoter says that it will be the rodeo events will be governed by PRCA and WPRA rules. The last ruling From the WPRA, that I’m aware of, is that you must be born female to be eligible to join the WPRA. Many years ago a well known male trainer/barrel racer, sued the WPRA attempting to join. He lost. (He was born male).

There are plenty of barrel races to enter that aren’t gender specific.

Thank you for sharing that. Rules are rules, I get it! I'm going to copy and paste this on my Facebook to clear that up.

From the article :"Girdy wants to compete professionally in women's barrel racing in the future."I want to make history"

And there you have it.
The event folks state that they have only allowed Pre-Entry and no money has been taken from any contestants. So this person is fibbing saying they have paid their entry...but won't know till Saturday if they will be allowed to run. Well...heck...if it's all pre entry NO ONE knows for sure they are in until they finalize their entry with the proper paperwork and fee at the event! Good Grief. This is TRYING to create a problem and a story where there isn't one.

Drama Queen looking for attention and to play victim so they can "make history"

Kind of like the military in the old days, huh?!! Don't ask don't tell. . .

Most people want to make history, but I'd want it to be for something meaningful. . . .

*UPDATE**

Well folks...they couldn't let Girty compete. Why? Because he couldn't complete the paperwork requirements. :

"Unfortunately, Ms. Girdy was unable to complete her entry for this year's Women's Barrel Racing Competition. However, the organizers, promoters and affiliates of the 1st Annual MLK Scholarship Rodeo and Trail Ride extend the invitation for Ms. Girdy to showcase her skills by running in this afternoon's exhibition. Further, we wish Ms. Girdy all the best in her quest to change the rules of women's professional rodeo and look forward to her competition in future events."

Yes they do. Roughstock events, Roping Events, Timed events ( Barrels , poles, flag race) , and Camp events. These events are open to anyone of any gender/orientation.

We have gay rodeo's here in town but never been to one myself, I bet they would be just as entertaning as any rodeo.. The Dude {transgender} should just be happy with all the barrel races as in open rodeo's, D's and all the others out there he can run in, but since hes trying to stir things up with the WPRA hes not going to be welcome any where he gos if he starts causing problems.

Yep, they are a good show and quite competitive. Many have tried to sue the WPRA and have lost. I want to say Lance Graves did it once based on " Right to work laws" or something. They let anyone run at the American etc... I have absolutely zero problem with the WPRA staying all women.

Don’t get me started on this ridiculous news item. If Girdy’s birth certificate says male, there you have it. At this point, if Girdy breaks the law and goes to prison, whatever the birth certificate says is what determines the prison Girdy would get sent to. If there are male parts, it would be a male prison. It wouldn’t be a women’s prison because that’s, “What Girdy identifies with”.

It’s the same deal for the WPRA. So until Girdy goes through the entire sex change and gets it changed on HIS birth certificate...Girdy is still a dude.

I will say though...if ANY man ever had to experience a monthly visitor that felt like meat hooks ripping your insides out, the inability to leave the house for a couple of days for some due to the uterus shedding so bad, severe PMS where you want to rip someone’s head off, severe cravings for sugar and salt and bloating...I’m pretty sure they’d decide being a woman isn’t so great.
