cow pie - 2019-02-17 1:31 PM you dont need a camera , you need to know at what time of day the mare was bred. if bred at 10 am every day. your foal will be born at 10 am if bred at 6:05 pm foal will be at 6:05 . you must realize sperm swim very very fast. when the mare is pacing and rocking and walking in circles and you have milk running on the ground you are very close to foaling sometimes it is all of these or just one of these. be sure to give vitamins and free choice hay to have a stand up healthy baby.
I wish it were this simple! Unfortunately most mares do not read this book....
*Most* mares prefer foaling in the wee hours of the night. You'll have a few that go during the day, but the majority like to foal at night.
