I wanted to bring awareness to this amazing show taking place in less than 2 weeks. The St. Jude Barrel Jam is the weekend of Feb 22-24 in Memphis, TN. Last year we hd about 400 riders PER DAY, and 76 pole benders on Saturday!!!! My SO and I have raised approx $17,000 in the past 4 years for St. Jude Children's Hospital and it's families. Last year we raised $7850 and we are going for $10,000 this year through metary donations, silent auction items, hivce aways, etc. We donate EVERYTHING in our dear friend's name, Michel Otten, who we lost to cancer 4 years ago. It's a way we can keep her memory alive. She was a barrel racer and pole bender and had a heart of gold.
We are in charge of sponsorships, awards, etc for the pole bending class that is held on Saturday at the Jam. It is the Michel Otten Memorial Pole Bending in her honor. We have been able to place up to 3 palces in 3 divisions and I am not sure where we are going to end up this year with the generosity we have received thus far.
