So I am one of those people who love to have a practice bit and a competion bit, the proplem is I dont know what I want my competition bit to be. I currently practice in a stubben 2 in 1 loose ring snaffle. We can make a killer pole practice run but I love using different bits for different times. I have been runing her is a tender touch. The other snaffle I have is a Loose Ring Twisted Copper Snaffle. I am not sure if I should switch it around and use twisted as a practice bit and the stubben as a competion and forget the tender touch but I admit, I have no clue. TIA

What kind of mouth piece does the tender touch have? smooth mouth? Twist? 3 piece?

I would go with the smooth mouth. For work, you want to keep them as soft as possible. Thats just me though

If your horse is working good, leave it alone. Keep doing what your doing. Sometimes less is more.

Yeah I understand that. I am just trying to figure out which one to use. She works great in all of them and I just cant figure out which one should be my competion bit and which one should be my working bit.

Why do you feel the need to use one bit for working and a different for barrels?

It is what I feel works best for my mare. When she has one bit in her mouth, she knows that it is time to run and is allowed to get antsy. When she has a different bit in her mouth she knows that she has to work anad be responsive and soft as well as calm.
