does any of you struggle with having consistent runs? One day my horse and I can have an awesome run and it makes me feel like we are FINALLY getting it (mostly me) and the following weekend we are back in the 4D (not that there is nothing wrong with that! but I am working really hard in climbing up the D's and staying there.

I have a pretty awesome horse with lots of potential and very much a push style (which with my confidence issues that is the horse that I need). Last weekend at a pretty good size arena we were on top of the 2D and this weekend we are back to middle of the 4D, and that happens more often than not!!! I believe this year we have hit every single D out there!

Does anyone struggle with this issue or is it just me? I am getting just a tad discouraged .

Was it the same amount of entries and same people you were riding against?

Are you working with a trainer to help?

How long have you had this horse? How long has this horse been running?  Consistency takes confidence...did you run at another arena when he fell in the 4d, were you more nervous at that race?  Lots of things can change how a horse runs or doesn't run. Watch your videos and see if you can see a difference. Were you not riding aggressively enough, etc....

I have been inconsistent a lot latley. I know that its a mental thing on my part. I try to enter more so that I can focus on having the same run everytime. I also watch my videos, among other things to help with my timing.
