Today is
Looking at 2 yearlings. Both out of the same stud who is a son of Haidas Little Pep. Filly is granddaughter of Skeets Peppy. Colt is grandson of Gay Bar Lena. Which is the better cross on the Haidas? I can't decide
I just sold one who was out of a Haidas Little Pep mare by a son of Dual Pep (Rey Dual, full brother to Dual Rey).
He was/is neat - on the smaller side at 14.1 but quick and wasted no time. He went to a 12 yr old girl who is cleaning up on him at Jr High rodeos now.
Only bad thing I really have to say about him would be his feet were tiny and very upright. Once we figured out how to shoe him no issues - but he was a shoe pulling son of a gun before that and then got sore being barefoot going down the road due to a slight club foot.
id take another one in a heartbeat if they were closer to 15hh
I'd have to go with GBL, but it's the cutting enthusiast in me! My "it's their fault I have 5 horses" great friends have a son of HLP; they of course bred him to tons of cow horses, but also some racing bloodlines. (I believe there was a DFC granddaughter in the mix.) There were some nice barrel horses that came from those breedings. That said, I wouldn't turn down either of them
Good luck with whatever you decide!
