Hi all!  It's been forever since I've been on here... nice to see everyone!!

I have a On the money red mare that I am thinking of breeding next year.... anyone have an opinion of the best bloodline to cross?  She also has Pie in the sky and some TB breeding.

She is a BS paint so I may breed to a colored horse if anyone has an opinion there as well.

Thanks everyone!!

I have one mare that is DFP top side and a granddaughter of OTMR bottom.  I crossed her with Streaking Ta Fame and love the colt.  He basically came out broke.  So, if she didn't already have DFP. . I would cross her with a DFP stallion or something more foundation.  Depends on your mare's attitude.

My other OTMR mare is a little hotter.  She is by Firewater Finale & a granddaughter of OTMR on the bottom.

Both are laid back to work with, but all business come time to work.  They also have the "I know my job, let me work attitude". . so dependong on your mare's attitude. . adjust accordingly.

I do like this one and think he would make a good cross too. . especially if your mare might be a little hotter:  https://www.facebook.com/DSP2011/

Thank you!  My mare is pretty quiet, esp for a OTMR but I've seen how they can get so I want to not bring that out!!!   I appreciate all the input guys!

Since she is a solid paint..I've toyed with breeding her to a paint stud-- I saw a Frenchmans Guy stud that I like but he's 15.2 (Gemma is 16hh) so I wouldn't mind going a little shorter too  I like to buckskin that you linked here

I have a granddaughter of OTMR that I am considering breeding for 2020. She's been my main mount for the past 8 years. Shes quirky, and tends to be anxious so I'm planning on crossing her on bloodlines that are known for their confidence and ability to perform under pressure. I've been told by a lot of people that Dash Ta Fames are big puppy dogs that live for running barrels - which is why I assume they have had so much success in the barrel pen. I've never personally owned or rode one but I've been around a few that seem to fit that stereotype. So I've been casually looking at some DTF studs. Shawne Bug Leo's are doing big things and are highly marketable if you have a little more money to spend. Plus ive heard he puts a good mind on them and I have yet to see an ugly one. I also dont think you could necessarily go wrong with a FG stallion either. I have a grandaughter of FG (by First Down French) that I love but I'm just wanting to go a different route with this mare. My personal opinion, which you can take it or leave it, is to breed to a QH and not a paint. I'm not saying there arent some nice paint stallions, because there are, but they just dont sell as well (if it ever came down to that). Additionally, I highly suggest you pay attention to incentives when choosing a stud. Ruby Buckle just released their stallion list today - so you may want to take a look at that. That will give you a good starting point. Good luck!!

Kylie Weast's Hell on the red is OTMR breeding on the bottom and so is Fallon Taylor's baby flo, those are two I can think of off the top of my head. The best thing to do is to pull an equistat magic cross report.
