I am trying to decide between these two saddles. I have tried the Contender and really like it but have read amazing reviews on the Usher saddles but have no experience with them. Any input is appreciated :)
I like both, but actually prefer the Usher. The Ushers have a great ground seat that really sits you well. The stirrups are hung in a way that they don't feel super forward, but your legs/feet are always in the right spot. I have a tendency to get my feet behind me, but the Usher saddles really help me with that. I also like that the Usher medium wide tree really seems to fit everything. That is all I have, and the saddles fit just by changing pads on different builds of horses.
I am also going to send you a PM.
Thanks for the info. I tried to PM back but theres some security code problem. Ill try later.
So no other folks have compared these saddles?? Help a girl out.
I havent tried an Usher, so no comparison.. But I love my contender. I had to have some brain surgery to remove a tumor from behind my left eye. I now have limited vision in that eye and it has made my depth perception down to nothing and my peripheral vison limited. Needless to say after the time off, my balance was way off. I had been riding my competive horse in a Merrill before and had to switch him to my contender. What a difference that made. Im sure glad I had it!
I haven't compared the two, so I can't help on comparison. I will say I have a Contender that I really like. What I like about it is it's a secure feeling seat. High cantle, high swells. Feels good the minute I sit in it and when I run it holds me where I need to be. IDK if that's helpful though. They are a bargain too compared to many, but not cheap quality.
