Sounds like TSC is going to start carrying Triple Crown.  Their products are somewhat new to my area, but I've heard nothing but good things on here/Facebook from those who feed TC.  I was curious which Triple Crown feeds you all use and why??  Or if you switched from TC, why??

I'm also interested in this. Sadly, the only thing in my area is a TSC so I'm limited to what they have unless I order it online.

My advice on the Triple Crown is to make sure the TC that your Tractor Supply is carring is milled by BlueBonnet in Ok. I like the Triple Crown but its got to be milled by BlueBonnet. If its not Milled by BB then I would look at a different feed company.

Yes, only way I'd consider feeding TC. Fortunately for me my BB dealer and Purina dealer both carry TC from Ardmore. With TSC you never know where it's coming from until you ask, but with tsc, good luck with that!

On TC bags, LOOK AT THE TAG. It will tell you the mill right next to the date it was made. Out here in CA, most of our stores cary TC that was made in CG, meaning Casa Grande , AZ. I won't feed it because of that.

We started feeding TC Balancer 30 13 months ago.  1# per horse/day.  All look great (weaklings, all ages, stallions), slick shine, great condition for performance.

So here is the deal. Bluebonnet will not be milling the Triple Crown that is in TSC. It will be milled by Purina. Bluebonnet will continue to mill it but it will be in the stores that carry it with BB.

Good to know! I dont think I'd hesitate to feed the TC if it were milled by purina. But just from experience with tsc, I'd buy all my grain from the feed stores instead.

If my understanding is correct... Blue Bonnet has the same mix everytime, exact same.

Purina goes with cheaper ingredients, so the mix can vary slightly... meaning that the mix will be made up of same ingredients, but that the mix can vary based on which ingredients are cheaper... Do I have that right?

Yes you are correct on that BB has to use exact same ingredients because it is listed by them on the tag.
And another thing to remember BB is a Ionophore FREE mill!

So purina does least cost? Therefore if purina is milling TC it will be done the same? (Least cost) and BB is a fixed formula so TC coming from them will be fixed.  Did I get that right?! Lol!

Any mill making Triple Crown (Whether Purina, BlueBonnet, Blue Seal etc) will always use high quality ingredients that meet Triple Crown specifications, the mills follow strict mill standards and follow Triple Crown's fixed formulations.  There is no changing or mixing around of ingredients.  The formulas are fixed.  The Purina mills producting Triple Crown are also ionophore free manufacturing systems.  If you have Triple Crown feed questions, mill questions or questions on TSC, reach out to Triple Crown at info@triplecrownfeed.com, call 800-451-9916, or talk to them on Facebook.

I will not trust any mill unless its BlueBonnet and I trust BlueBonnet, been useing them for 25 plus years and will only buy Triple Crown that is milled by BlueBonnet if I ever feel like I need to go that way.. My horses mean alot to me. I know that Triple Crown has bounce around using different mills and BlueBonnet is the only mill I will ever trust..Thats just me...

Most of the manufactuerers making Triple Crown Feed across the US put the date code on the bottom white tear strip of the feed bag and it may show as a series of numbers or numbers and letters. Otherwise, the bags don't have tags on them, however, feed made by Bluebonnet does have a feed tag on it.  Triple Crown isn't made at any mill in Casa Grande, AZ.  If we can help with any other questions, please reach out to Triple Crown.
