Location: Northern CA | Any tips on a marketing a horse that has vet diagnosed physical limitations for certain events but is fine for others? I will be 100% open with prospective buyers and share all vet records and of course the price will reflect such limitations, but I am unsure how to honestly advertise the horse without scaring off any potentional interest. I would rather have the conversation with people that have interest as opposed to posting all details in the ad. As a buyer how would you prefer this to be handled? As a seller, have you been in a simlilar situation and how did you handle it? |

I would prefer if the ad said the horse had limitations and to contact seller for details. THat way you kind of know something is there but don't need to list it all in the ad. |

What Flit said, mention that he has performance limitations and serious inquiries should contact you for more details. That should help weed out tire kickers as well. |

| I would definitely say in the ad that horse has limitations (and contact for details), but emphasize what the horse CAN do, rather than focus on what it cannot do.
like one of my horses doesn't sweat in the summer. If I were buying him, I'd be okay with it if the ad said "1D/2D fall through spring. Consistent, safe, honest, fun. Just needs to be off of work from June until October due to heat (message me for details). Great cool-weather dependable mount and here are his stats....." I know it's a silly example, but I think if the ad described what the horse COULD do, it wouldn't be passed up so quickly. |

Location: East Texas | I just recently listed and sold one that had some quirks. I put in the ad he had them and price reflected. I included that I would only discuss over the phone and not through text or email. I would constantly get texts, but would simply reply if they were serious I would be happy to discuss over the phone. |
