A big thanks to all the health care workers on the front line fighting this virus.

My son was leaving today to deploy in Afghanistan.  They were already delayed by weeks.  Their equipment is in packed in their cages ( that is a big deal) but they are on lock down until further  notice.  I should be happy but he still will go and when he gets there his job will be more dangerous ( too many reasons to list)   I feel for the families that thought their loved ones were coming home and now they have no idea when their husbands and sons will be back.  Coronavirus  broke out in Afghanistan but not sure where and I don't know about the Special Op's Compounds.  Since those guys actually go into villages I would think there would some contanimation into the Spec Op's guys.

I have nothing to say except many prayers for all Americans in situations like you.  I can't imagine how scared many families must be right now and so scary for the kids.  I don't like the current situation at all and worry daily.  Prayers for all especially our military, and those trying to stop the madness.

Thanks for sharing, you hang in there.

I'm near topeka, KS. Lots of panic buying still, all restaurants/bars closed except for drive through...no dine in. I work in the emergency room, we haven't had a positive case in our county yet, lots of people panicked and started flooding into the ER, overwhelming us and the hospital up the street. Most of the respiratory, if negative on the respiratory panel have been told to self quarantine for 14 days at home. They upgraded the rooms in the PCU (step down unit of the ICU) to be negative pressure rooms in the event of a positive COVID case. Thankfully all negative. Just overwhelming, stressful, exhausting at this point, and we are so short staffed it's not even funny.

May I thank you for your work.  Today you are as much as heroes as the military.

Absolutely agree--thank you.   I never thought much about our nurses and doctors and other medical professionals and what y'all deal with until now. . . With my DIL working ICU in a hospital where one person has already died from this--certainly brings it home.  So thank you again to all of our medical personnel who are standing toe to toe with this; I pray protective barriers around each of you

Just checking in on your DIL ......

She goes back on rotation tomorrow am. . . No more cases in her hospital other than the one that passed away that I know of.  She stays in Monroe at her apartment til she works off.  Then she drives home that night.  I WORRY about her and my parents (and of course Chandler) but I know she's doing all she can (and all the doctors are telling them to do to protect themselves and their loved ones) to stay safe and keep our family safe. Please keep my family and all our front line protectors in your prayers. . . And thank you so much for asking, Miss Norma.

Both my children are in health care.  One a NP OB/gyn.  She has to continue seeing patients.  Our son is a paramedic.  Our town has more cases then Atlanta.  11 deaths so far in a town of only 80K.  Well over 100 positive and over 300 waiting on results.

If people would just stay home and do their part.  But they won't.  It is a me me society.

The reports are that the truckers are getting supplies to the stores. People are stocking the shelves all night and letting old people shop first. Carnival Cruise line told Trump “We can match those big Navy Hospital ships with some fully staffed cruise ships” GM said hold our cars and watch this; we can make those ventilators where we were making cars starting next week. Women and children are making homemade masks and handing out snacks to truckers. Restaurants and schools said, We’ve got kitchens and staff; we can feed kids.” Churches are holding on-line services and taking care of their members and community. NBA basketball players said, “Hold our basketballs while we write checks to pay the arena staff.” Construction companies said, “Here are some masks for the medical staff and doctors”. Breweries are making sanitizer out of the left-over ingredients. We thought we couldn’t live without Baseball, NASCAR, NBA or going to the beach, restaurants or a bar. Instead, we’re trying to keep those businesses open by ordering take-out.

What communist China didn't count on was America saying "Hey, hold my beer and watch this."

I think a Japanese Admiral in the middle of the Pacific said it best in 1941, "I think we have awakened a sleeping giant."

Give us a few more weeks (maybe months) and we will be doing much better! And stop listening to the hysterical media!!

Sharing this from another FB friend. We have wonderful country and an amazing God.

I know we will be ok .????????????????????

Today on the way home from LR, we stopped at a produce stand to get Momma some strawberries (she's coping by making jelly).   When I called her to tell her the kind they had, I read the label (out loud obviously)---the owner said please don't say that so loud. . . . They were LA strawberries from Carona Farms

Just wondering how everybody is holding up? I'm so thankful we have land to move around on and my life is still pretty much normal, just been mowing and weed eating planting flowers and vegetables, sure am going to have alot of tomatos, lol. Never been one to go shoping and hanging out in town so this staying home is the norm for me anyway, just kinda missed going to eat in the evenings, missing my favorite restaurants..

I'm doing fine like you I'm very thankful we have land and animals to keep us busy.  Thanks for asking.  My husband has been home since 3/20, he didn't want to stay home but finally listened to me so now he's glad he did.  I am the lucky one he has been doing all barn chores and is mowing (my job) now, thank goodness he fired up the smoker yesterday.  I was tried of what's for dinner, I'm not used to cooking this much.

I am upset with my son he didn't take this serious, till someone he worked with was exposed and they shut them down.  Now he says he is but he let my granddaughter 15+ go visit her boyfriend Saturday who just got back from FL and has a parent who is a nurse in a nursing home.  So now they can just stay down the road and we visit from a distance.  This bothers me but hopefully they are young and healthy, he still thinks Trump is great so what can I say.  He thought I was nuts when I wouldn't go visit with them on 3/15 (before boyfriend went to FL) when the boyfriend was there.  I know the boyfriend is a Trump fan he wears a button on his hat, so I don't think his family is/was concerned......they went to FL.  Not turning it political just wanting some to understand my fears.  I don't know what scares me more face licking or grabbing.  Not funny at all and he's a nice kid.

Other than than I'm doing great, I have always said I could be the crazy hermit animal lady.  I have played more Skip Bo than I ever thought possible and I keep trying to think of chores to keep my husband busy.  I can read anytime he has to be busy.

Staying at home has it's benefits.  When the mud goes away.

We are also perfecting the live podcast for Barrel Horse World and have done two so far.  Good audience.

Holding up and working behind locked door at office.  Getting LOTS of calls with questions about stimulus money, unemployment, and "hurry up and file my 19 taxes"!!!!  On a sad note, Lula Bell was moved to the Covid unit today. . . A RN that was supposed to work there told the higher ups that she didn't know how to start an IV--so they called LB up.  I don't know if this will be ongoing or just temporary (she's an ICU nurse), but I'd certainly appreciate each and every prayer y'all would send up please

Still working reduced hours from home. Going a little stir crazy as doing my best for doing my part and staying home. Unfortunately a specialist appt for tomorrow that I really needed was cancelled/rescheduled this afternoon, presumably due to COVID.

It's scary and I might add depressing when you're being assured that here in Kansas things will only get much worse over the next three weeks.  We have 400 cases in our county and one man died yesterday in Haysville only seven miles from where we live.  Local news just announced a case at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita.  They're asking some Spirit Aircraft employees to come back to work and they simply don't want to.  I think I would handle this much better if I never watched the news.

I envy everyone who can work from home. Unfortunitly my job forces me to be in very close contact with hundreds of people for 13+ hours. We screen staff before they come in, but even if they've been in contact with individuals who tested positive, if they don't have symptoms or a fever, HR says to work them. We're just doing the best we can to get by. About the only difference is we have more hand sanitizer around, but its all alcohol free so...who knows how much that really helps.
We're just taking it day by day, and trying to keep my officers as safe as possible. I think we just crested over 20 positive cases in our county, several in our town.
