I purchased a 4 yr prospect a year ago. She is by Brookstone Bay, Jess Perry, Corona Cartel. She was on the track but not raced. She was sold bc she was a little cold back and high flight. She is not mean or marish but acts like she is going to be shocked. I have done extreme ground work, desensitization work, sent to trainers, cow handlers and now have her back and she is still so untrusting and spooky. I am treating her for epm, bc several people have said that EPM. She is on day 10. 

could cause this type behavior. This mare is  5 is very patterned, athletic, sweet natured, but EXTREMELY reactive to anything that touches or spooks her. I am feeding her renew gold, pasture,Bermuda  hay, and alfalfa. I would like to know if this behavior is just her personality, bloodline or health related. She Is free of pasta sites,  UTD on teeth and vaccines.  I do not mind taking time with her but would rather not get hurt bc of her behavior. Any advise is appreciated.

I have a 3 year old off the track qh corona cartel, treis seis, stoli, and more bred. I got him cheap because he bucked off a colt trainer and wasn't wanting to lunge to the right. As soon as he arrived I got his teeth done and cleaned his beans out which helped a little, but wasn't the root cause. I spent two months desensitizing, lunging, and just leaning in over the saddle, he was always perfect on the left side but on his left side he was skittish and very uncomfortable. I felt his back was out of place and could tell it was pushed out in his kidney area.. I sent a hair sample to Simply Equine in Texas, they called me 2 weeks later and confirmed exactly what I thought and that it was indeed his kindeys. Im getting him on a kidney clease that should do the trick. I have been doing tons of research on kidney issues in horses the past few weeks and have continuously read that feeding alfalfa without enough work being done can cause kidney issues so may be something to consider. The simply equine hair analysis test is only $25 and can tell you if it is related to the bones, muscles, organs, nerves, etc and takes two weeks.

I have twice that are FG and DW crosses. They are both super twitchy and watchy. One will set back and turn

upside down in a minute. The gelding will buck like an NFR bronc if lunged under saddle. Neither have ever bucked with a rider but it's scary. Both are crazy athletic . They both get much better when on Redmond daily stress. I feed about half of the recommended dose. If you try it, don't feed other supplements at the same feeding.
