| I would LOVE to send one to Ashley Schafer!!! Janna Brown Jolene Montgomery Ryan Pedone James Barns Another fantastic trainer that MANY people have sucessfully ridden behind, LaTricia (Duke) Mundorf. I'm not sure if she is riding for the public currently. Some of these are top names in the business so I expect their fee to be on the higher end of the spectrum.

Not to sound snippy or anything but what you are asking for will be tough to get one of the top trainers to do. They do NOT take them slow, they have a program and want colts to progress through it---if they do not they go on to the next one that does. It is a business for them and they want colts running that will make them money---going slowly is not in most of their vocabulary---they can't. |

The DUNNS must see something in Monk. I mean they bought that Pally off him and he's still doing well when the ground holds up with her. |

Tons of amazing trainers here in Texas! I'd see if you can go talk/watch/see them work colts and their program. Just because they are winners and ride well doesn't mean they will match what you want. A lot of them are booked way in advanced too. I was at Kassie Mowry's house a while ago and we talked about how people already book her for colts that are born this year! She always has a full book and they usually have it down when that foal hits the ground, amazing! That being said, maybe look at an up and coming futurity trainer! I've trained a lot of 1D horses, but I am just starting to dabble in the futurities as well and hopefully in a few years I'll start taking more of the futurity colts. Halee Layman I think is pretty handy and has a good backing of people (like her sister, Jolene) but maybe find someone who isn't maybe a huge name and see what they have to offer?? Good luck! |

There a lot of trainers that will take their time with one, **given the chance. If this colt is a three year old, it's very late in the year to have him ready for next spring. You might have a trainer evaluate him for a month and see where he's at or you might consider holding him over til his five year old year. Mighty broke is correct , big name trainers want a horse they can win on, but most of them do have the horse's best interest in mind and will let the owner know if he odds are against him for being ready. This is where due diligence comes in to find a trainer that will align with your goals. |

Location: Dubach, LA | He's had a fair amount of success in futurities. His horses look and work goo. I can watch him pull up to a jackpot with a trailer full of horses and they all work. I've tried a couple that he patterned and he seems easy to ride behind. He takes good care of everything on his place. |
