Anyone having issues with horses losing condition on the Pro Care. And no it’s not fore or hindgut ulcers. She is on Succeed and Omeprazole.
I thought you were liking the feed??
I never had an issue other than my horse itching, but he was also itching on the 14/8 pellet. I think its just him. I have heard from a few that they felt they needed to feed a bit more of the pro care to maintain condition. But not that any horses having issues of losing condition while on it.

She was losing weight on 6 lbs a day. Had to up it to 8lbs a day. I really am not comfortable feeding that much grain. Also upped the Lifeline Plus to twice a day.
I had to lower mine. He was on 6lbs and we went down to 4.5. He Is about 1100-1200lbs and was getting fat on it. My others are on 3lbs a day and are fat as ticks even my daughters 23yr old.

Are you feeding enought hay?
Maybe drop the extra lifeline and up the hay... since the equiliene has the lifeline in it. Thats a pretty expensive supplement, imo... One thing I feel confident in when feeding bluebonnet is not having to add in a bunch of extras when you are feeding the recommended amounts. Or maybe try a different feed. The Sr. Therapy is a really nice feed too. Plumped up one of my older guys in a hurry...

How big are your flakes of Alfalfa? My flakes sure dont come out as big flakes, 4 flakes for me would maybe be 8 maybe 9 lbs and I feed alfalfa to my one gelding in the mornings and he only gets one flake along with his coastal hay .. Sounds like you are not feeding enough hay along with the feed. I would be adding some type of grass hay along with the alfalfa. Do you have a picture of this horse?
Lifeline & Stride 101 plus the pro care?? That seems like an awful lot to be throwing at 1. Whats the issue with your horse that they would suggest both of those supplements along with the higher feeding rate of the equilene? Any of the bluebonnet feeds ive fed, I've only had to feed about 4-5 lbs a day, plus free choice coastal and I do feed 1 small flake of alfalfa in the evenings. Of course I have easy keepers... its both a blessing and a curse at times lol!
Nothing wrong with her. They reccomended 8 lbs a day of feed. Which I wasn’t really comfortable with feeding that much. The nutritionist reccomended today 6 lbs a day. Lifeline Plus and add the Stride 101. The Stride 101 is supposed to make the Equilene like the Intensify line? I feed 20 lbs of Alfalfa a day also. I do not feed grass hay due to the chance of impaction colic.
The dosage for Lifeline Plus for Performance Horses is 1 scoop twice daily. If you do not feed at least 6 lbs a day of the ProCare you are not getting the full amount of plasma, Vitamin and Minerals or so I’ve been told.
I had to lower the amount I was feeding, my mare has ballooned on it and looks wonderful (and feels good)
