Any one have any experience with breakaway stirrups?  thanks!  

I looked for some after I broke my ankle but they were super expensive.

I have them. I wouldn't ride without them because I have big feet and God forbid my foot gets caught.... They're hard plastic. I remember we had a hard time finding the second pair I needed and had to get them from England or Australia or someplace. I don't remember them being super expensive. This was quite a few years ago. I'll look and see if I can see the brand when I go out to the barn tomorrow.  

The brand is Escape. I highly recommend them.

I just might. Which is a shame cause I got some new really pretty stirrups recently but I saw a video of a trainer recently that when she put her foot in the stirrup to get on, the horse spooked and she was stuck hopping along next to him. I certainly wouldn't have been able to keep my balance on that situation and the possible outcomes haunt me, especially with a colt coming back from the trainer this fall.
