Just for the heck of it, what do you all think the fall sales are going to be like this year? Especially those with weanings and yearlings? Sale season is just firing up, it'll be interesting to see if the recession effects barrel horses. It looks to me like good ones are still selling, and I'd anticipate the elite will maintain their value. I know Royal Crown's sale is this weekend, and Ruby Buckle's sale is just a few weeks out.
The Louisiana bred yearling sale was suprisingly good, up 23% over last year. Several horses sold for over $100,000.
Good grief! That's absolutely incredible for our industry! I don't understand how it's still growing with the recession, but I'm not going to ask questions, just embrace it.

Unless you are Betty Barrel Racer looking for a safe 4D ride on a retirement income. A ride that has four legs and two eyes and doesn't need more than 1k of maintenance yearly and is under the age of 18.
Seriously. It seems the basic no frills starting price of anything is 15k. I have a friend selling a gelding that has been turned out for 8 years. Never been an easy ride. Gelding is 18. She's asking 10k.
