| I was taken for my deposit this past spring with Horsein' Around. I've used them for the past 7 years and always loved the haulers, but the office seems to have gth. I still cannot get a return phone call or email.
Montana Express had a trailer ready for me asap when I finally gave up on Horsein' Around, but my mare seemed to have gotten too close to foaling so I opted out of transporting her. Montana Express will be my 'go-to' shipper from here on out. |

Posts: 20309 Location: Bennett, CO | Had a good Friend Use Lady L Transport out of Salisaw OK. (Aka Lady L Ranch)
Horrible trip, Horse arrived 2 days late, had her head SNUBBED to the tie ring, and had not drank any water, on the trip which was set for a 10 hour haul that turned into 2 days. This incident is documented in John Lyons "The Perfect Horse" It was also documented by a veterinarian that had to treat this horses wounds as well as offer IV fluids.
I had to haul the horse from Parachute, CO to Oklahoma. This mare was a dream to haul prior to this, but was a nervous wreck following the transport, and still has hauling issues.

Rockin J Horse Transport and Red Tie are two other companies that stand out in my mind as being great with communication and good with the horses.
Miller Farms Equine Transport also went above and beyond when I had a rescue mare that was too thin to haul.

Posts: 803 Location: South Central MO | I used Wingstransport for a CA to MO trip. They were going to show up for p/u every day for 7 days. Then they arrived on a Monday evening instead of Tuesday afternoon. They had all my numbers, but I never received a call, I had to keep calling and was never aware of their arrival until the barn owner called me. Then the check was made out to the transport company and the driver gave me grief about it not being made out to him. They came highly recommended, but I'll never use them again. |

| I have used TripleHHorse transport out of Oklahoma several times, they have also helped out moving a couple of dog across the US for other people I know. They have a nice big trailer and they do not tie your horse up. plus they have hay and water the entire trip. You can reach them any time because you get the office number and a cell number. I will use them every time. They are good honest horse people.

Horse N Around doesn't come back here - one driver was good but the other didn't know how to tie a horse even. But he made up for it by being too arrogant to learn! But my real objection was that I thought their rig was under-powered and too worn out. Sorry, but I like to see pretty new equipment - I have my own bald tires and worn out truck and trailer - don't need to hire one. Must admit though, this was in 2002. Yes, I can hold a grudge!
My favorite is Hubbard Transport. Great equipment - semis with box and tie stalls. Great drivers that are good with horses - even babies that are newly weaned and off the range only a few weeks. They are expensive, but I usually try them first to see because I'd hate to not use them if they are affordable. Two babies in a box stall, for example, can be affordable. . . or if they just need to fill a spot.
Wish I could remember the name of the weird couple with the tiny trailer that hauled one for a customer of ours to VT. They had taken on a VERY pregnant mare and stopped in Kansas to foal her and eventually wandered up to VT. Not horseman either. Horse was okay . . . but he'd seen a lot of the US.

I will definitely use them again whenever I have a need and would recommend them to anyone looking to transport a horse. The whole process with them was like flawless. American Horse Transportation. Recomended to me by a friend who has shipped horses all over that are worth 20x what mine are. They were wonderful. Oklahoma to Oregon, on time, wonderful guys, great office staff and my mare showed up looking like it was a 1 hr trip. The rig is immaculate.

All-State Horse Express was GREAT. They delivered 2 on two different occasions. Horses arrived safe, sound, fed/watered, etc. You could tell the driver(s) were horsemen.
Rorick's Horse Hauling is not recommended. Showed up days late and did not call the owner, and did not return her frantic phone calls where she attempted to locate him and her expensive horse he had possession of.

Posts: 1989 Location: Ontario, Canada | I have used Rockin J in the past and was very happy about the service, communication and pricing.
Recently bought a horse from Whiskey Girl and had Black Hills Equine out of SD haul for us. Was a giant nightmare that involved our 2 year old filly being on a trailer for almost 7 days, seeing alot more of the US than planned and being days late delivering to our friend in Michigan. Communication started out great and then went south. Lots of blaming of the situation between the two partners. We were to get a partial refund due to the circumstances, but one partner ended up in the hospital in September or so and I can now not get an email to her about it. Have never been re-imbursed.

Posts: 5680 Location: South MS | Had contracted with Double C Transport (also dba "CCbarD equine transport") for pick up and delivery 6/21. Mare & foal were to be picked up in College Station, TX. Person I bought them from called me at 11:20am to tell me they were on their way. A little after 12:00pm, the hauler's dad (father / son business) calls to tell me they're are on their way. All is good. This is a trip that shouldn't take any longer than 9 hours.
At almost 5:00pm, I get a call from hauler's dad to tell me they are having equipment trouble. I ask where they are at - thinking I will get my truck/trailer and go get mare & foal. They are near Conroe which is not more than 1 1/2 hours from College Station! He has the number of a guy recommended by Gene Darby (see recommendations on him!) that is in Crockett, TX, and horses will be hauled rest of the way by him. My horses did not arrive in Crockett until 7:00pm that day - which I found out because the NEW shipper (Bert Wellman) took it upon himself to call me and let me know. Bert told me that my horses would be fed and watered then delivered around 1pm the next day (6/22).
I had left several messages with both Dagleys (father & son - Double C Transport) to call me - as well as an email to contact me.
I still have not heard from them. As for the new shipper, Bert, he stayed in touch with me the whole time he was on the road. When Bert arrived, I asked him if he had heard from the Dagleys and he said yes and that they had not called me because they figured I would be mad at them. Well DUH! If they had called when they broke down, I wouldn't have minded at all and would have taken off to get my horses myself. It is the time spent on the trailer in the heat (for horses) and not staying in contact with me that has me (STILL) so peeved.

Posts: 484 Location: Florida | Please allow this post to be a warning to anyone that has received an offer to have their horse transported by the McLemore couple. I purchased a gelding and he was to be picked in Billings, MT on July 20th with delivery to Florida no later than July 24th. Well day 2 the trouble began. The communication was downright awful. Phone calls were made to these individuals to no avail as well as e-mails. Kay would return an e-mail once a day around 9:30pm/10pm with some excuse as to why things are not moving along as planned. We were rather understanding right up until Saturday, July 19th, when the lines of communication really broke down. I, as well as the individual that he was purchased from, kept calling and e-mailing desperately asking how my gelding was handling the heat and when we could expect delivery. We were constantly fed LIES after LIES! Once again we were told Sunday delivery...no call no e-mail until 9:45pm wherein Kay advises not going to make it. I e-mail back asking for delivery ASAP!! Needless to say my gelding was on their rig for 7 days in July and when he was unloaded Tuesday, July 27th, he had NO LEGS underneath him from the hard and fast journey they took, box stall was filthy, she refused to unload him until payment was made, he was SEVERELY DEHYDRATED to the point of losing easily 100lbs. This gelding was gorgeous when he boarded their rig and now he is so drawn up and weak it makes me nauseous!
These individuals did not care for this horse at all! It was **** poor service at best and PLEASE do not allow them to do this to your horse. If you have any further questions feel free to PM me and I will be more than happy to send you pictures, e-mails, etc showing the damage that was done to this gelding.
DO NO USE THESE HAULERS!!

Posts: 4255 Location: Tyler, Tx | I sold a horse to a woman in Ohio who booked the haul from TX to OH with a woman named Renee Strange in TX. Also listed on the contract were Dusty and Dannie Gilder from MO. 3 hours into the trip that was supposed to take a day and a half we got a call wanting to keep the horse in MO for a 6 day layover so they could schedule other horses for the trip north. All said and done the horse was put on the trailer early Tuesday morning and arrived in Ohio late that Saturday night. The horse did appeared to be in good condition. They were dishonest in their dealings and there were misrepresentations on other counts as well. I would not recomend them to anyone. |

Posts: 1162 Location: Madill Ok | If I cant find a ride with a person I know well, then the only two I will use is -
Bob Hubbard transport- USA
Cox equine transport - gainseville
These two companies are always on the ball have clean, beautiful trucks & trailers , actually have horse people and teams of driviers, so no layovers normally, except to rest the horses. They will call you upon leaving and to schedule on time deliveries, and call again when they are near your deliver location.. I can reach them anytime day or night
Rates are really reasonable for their service, will discount multi horses and they have trucks & drivers all over the country all the time. I love them both. Hubbard was here this morning around 4:45am, called me to wake me up to unload horses.. Horses are never stressed when they get off the Semi, drivers are very nice and professional. |

Barb and Randy have hauled three horses for me now..right now picking up a mare for me in Oklahoma. I also have had them stop at my old place and unload horses that had been on and needed a break.
These two people KNOW horses and KNOW how to properly haul. They are great at communicating ...
My stallion is not the best hauler, and he arrived here not even looking like he had been on a trailer..

I was also not 100% impressed with Glider... Nothing terrible but the plans changed and I thought the communication was less than great.
My other problem was the mare had laid over at their place for a couple days (which was fine) but when they finished the last leg of the trip, this mare who was blanketed was hauled ina regular stock trailer...she had to be cold.... And I would NOT have approved this. It was winter still here and she was under lights to be bred.
While the prices were reasonable, and the service was ok, this company is not one I would probably use again.

Posts: 1990 Location: Warsaw, VA | Please do not use M and N Horse Transportation / North Carolina.Sold my finished barrel gelding thru BHW, I'm in OK, buyer is near Portland, Or. Used this company as they had a "great" website/ reviews.. They promise exp. Horsemen, stops every 3 hours etc etc... Not!! My geld left 3/30 and was was sent with hay, new halter / lead etc he arrived at buyers farm 4/2. She said he got off trailer and was trembling and was ribby.. So I had her send me pics as knew Charlie was a easy keeper , no hauling issues always ate/ drank etc... Driver gets out in shorts n FlipFlops! He wasn't like that when he picked up or that would have been a red flag! Well she asked them to get the hay I sent since mine was different from there grass hay and make sure he would eat hers. He said she didn't send any hay! WTH! She asked him then well how many times did you stop and rest, water , hay etc he said we didn't we drove straight thru all the pickups and dropoffs! So Charlie was on trailer the whole time! She said there were no way to have feed them as packed in all the horses were either! Then to put the icing on the cake, the helper/ other driver is outthere too and buyers hubby pulls up to see her new horse ( he is police officer) and in his car/uniform.. The helper guy starts sayingthe "f" word over n over and saying they gotta get outa there! Talk about a bad conscience!! You can see pics on my Facebook page: Sheri Lacey Padgett. It in furiates me to know that these people are doing this! I hope this will prevent someone else from using this company and going thru this awful ordeal!Website www.mandnhorsetransport.com |

| I used Dannie Gilder to ship our new mare from Virginia to New Mexico. I have no complaints whatsoever. I always got return calls within the hour. Our horse is huge (a Lipizzan/Friesian) at 17hh and quite long. They made accommodations whenever they could for her so she had more room to move. She left VA on a Thursday night and arrived in NM after a day in MO on Monday night. She was well hydrated and not nearly as spooky as I'd have expected her to be (she hadn't traveled far from the farm where she was raised). I recommend Dannie and crew, as our horse arrived in beautiful condition. |

Posts: 307 Location: Oklahoma | T_ _ Transport out of Virginia (I don't think I can use entire name b/c they have already threatened this website w/ a law suit.) You can PM me and I will give you entire name. RUN don't walk away from them!!!!!! Their website is great. Everything else is just horrible. Terrible communication. They would set up a time to pick up my horse and the time would come and go, and they wouldn't show up. No phone call-nothing. They were VERY difficult to get in touch with, wouldn't return messages. I think I heard every excuse in the book, from weather to blow outs! When they finally arrived (almost 4 weeks later, after several broken appointments) the driver was very inpatient/rude. He pulls up with a semi and box trailer (with almost no airflow by the way.) He lets down the ramp on the side and almost immediately gets the buggy whip out. My poor horse tries to go up the ramp, but is almost running in place because the ramp is so slick.
Well this goes on for a couple of hours. Then the driver informs me that, "Your horse is just STUPID!" Which he clearly is not because I can throw the lead rope over his neck and he will load himself in my 3 horse slant! I informed him the horse is scared because the ramp is slick and he tried to load once and almost went down.
So the new owners opt to just come pick him up themselves (excellent move in my opinion!) |

| I'm new to the Forum but I just had my TB Cross delivered from a new small transport company out of Terrell, Texas called WarHorse Transport, they are also known as Double M WarHorse Ranch. The husband and his partner have started doing other tranports, but before they were only doing Draft Horses for some time, The biggest thing I noted was how CLEAN the trailer was, which is my biggest pet peeve. They were nice, very horse savy and not overly expensive. They are a smaller operation with a 6 horse and 3 horse custom trailer. BUT my horse was in good conditon had Hay and Water on the trailer for the whole trip. I had the pleasure of seeing the most Beautiful Registered Belgian Stud on my horse's delivery that belong to them, their stud was on his way to a farm up North for breeding, he looks almost fairytale, so to have their horse on the same trailer as mine I knew my TB would be in great hands. They did hit some Bad weather which caused a delay but I understand that traveling with horses your first concern is their well being so when they had to stop for the weather, they took a camera phone picture of my horse inside a barn and he was doing great. So I have told many of my friends of my good experience and will use them again. They have a wonderful website with references and DOT licensed.
I have used also Dannie Gilder which I won't use again, my horse was not given a water bucket on the trip, and he was not let out of the trailer at all for any exercise. I also had him on a special diet and none of the feed was even used during the trip.

| I also used T _ _ Transport out of VA but mine ended up being a tragic mistake by doing so. He was to transport my special needs baby girl to WY from MI for surgery. He fail to secure the doors of the semi she was traveling in and my sweet baby fell out the back. She is now an Angel in Heaven instead of on earth. I found out about her death only after the vet in WY called to say she hadnt arrived as scheduled. 24 hours later. GROSS NEGLIGENCE on his part!!!! |

Has anyone ever used Bill Meyer with Carisbrooke Transport? Out of Whitesboro, TX & Clear lake MN?
I have used Bill Meyer with Carisbrooke Transport to haul two horses from TN to MN...satisfied. He stayed in contact, answered my e-mails on the road with either e-mail responses or phone calls. Horses arrived day later than expected but he had no control over that. Both horses in very good condition upon arrival, well fed and hydrated. Bill was nice and quiet with them. |

Posts: 10368 Location: At the race track with Ah Dee Ohs | I have used Creech Brothers in the past and was very satisfied with them. Picked up a horse in Maryland and shipped to Oklahoma. Laid over one night in Kentucky, which I was told would happen and then onto Oklahoma the next day. Very pleased with them and the way the horse looked when he arrived in OK> |

The experience I had with them was very strange to say the least....I was just the drop off/recieving point for the two parties involved and the horses were very well taken care of on the trailer, BUT they scammed the one party involved and tried to scam me in the process...... |

Premier Horse Transport of California transported my horse from N.CA to Denver, CO. I will definitely use them again whenever I have a need and would recommend them to anyone looking to transport a horse. The whole process with them was like flawless. Everything is done on line and their timing is right on schedule and they do what they promise. Complete professional. Call them! They do Nationwide Transport.

I used them to ship a horse from Ohio to Ca. I thought they did a great job and my horse showed up in great health. |

| I have used an interstate American Auto Transport Company i.e. AutTransportDepot.com to get my Aston Martin Shipped from Washington to Miami. They just delivered my car according to my expectations. No delays, no hassles and above everything, the car was shipped successfully at a price i could afford. So i would suggest everyone to use same auto mover, if they ought to get their cars moved across USA. |

| Do not use "Outlaw Transport" out of Bend Oregon. They are unreliable and will not follow through with their plans or pickup dates. They will also cancel on you last minute. |

My horse just arrived to me this week and we used Dannie Gilder. She was just perfect!! VERY good pricing as well. Would use again. <img src='/forum/images/emoticons/06thumbsup.gif'> |

| I have known the Gilders for years, transported several hoses on the them, and suggested his business with all being positive until the last trip. First the horse laid-over several days without prior notification, second the driver refused to drop the horse at the agreed destination, and third he requested additional payment from the recipient. I felt as if the horse was being held hostage, it was a horrible feeling, and he was dropped off three hours from the attended location.
I tried to contact the Gilders with NO response, and I have taken my business elsewhere. Whomever you use don't pay cash upfront like I always did and get a contract. |

STAY AWAY FROM DANNY GILDER IF YOU CARE FOR YOU HORSE!!! THE ABUSE GILDER TRANSPORT IS WELL DOCUMENTED! |

| If anyone was thinking of using GILDER TRANSPORT from Missouri....DO NOT DO IT!!!!
My new horse was at his place for over 2 weeks before he picked up my other horses and this is what he looked like...his driver also did not water any of my horses for the whole trip. His excuse was that the girl (whom he knows very well) only brought 20 lbs of grain to feed him. Not sure why he thought it was okay to just not feed my horse...All of my horses arrived severely ganted (sp?) and with scratches and scrapes all over their faces and heads. I have a video and pictures of my horse a few days before he arrived at Dannies and he did not look like this...i am unable to ride him and its costing me a ton to get the weight put back on the poor guy. Not sure how this guy still has a business...after this happened to me, i have heard from many other people who have had similar experiences with them. NOT VERY IMPRESSED!!!! :( |

| I guess my pictures are too big...if you would like me to send them to you, please PM me and i would be more than happy to share them with you. |

| You guys were very lucky. I wish you could see pictures of my horse. There is no way that the horse should have EVER been put on a trailer in that condition. It took him over 2 weeks to finally confirm a date to haul and he texted me at 3pm and told me to meet them at the pickup point at 7am the next morning (i was 10 hours away)...When i confronted him about the condition of my horse he took no responsibility for it whatsoever. The trucker pulled into the gas station across from where i was too meet him so i pulled over there thinking that i had mixed up places but they were trying to water my horses and from the condition they were in, it was blatantly obvious that they had not watered them for the whole trip. Terrible Terrible company to deal with...you were very lucky in your dealings with him. My uncle is a lawyer and dear Mr. Gilder is gonna pay for what he made my horse go through!!! |

Posts: 907 Location: a secret | It is interesting that everyone that uses Gilder states I had good luck with them.. Really folks is shipping horses based on luck??? My experience with them then would be considered bad luck NEVER USE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!! I learned the hard way. If you are shipping long distances box stall and tractor trailer yes it is more expensive but well worth the heart ache and the vet bills when you are dropped a sick dehydrated horse. |

| Please DO NOT use War Horse Transport. The yearling filly I sold died after they hauled her.

This was a gorgeous, happy, healthy, fit filly when she loaded on the haulers trailer.
This filly had 2 health certificates about 3 weeks apart prior to her leaving our place because the buyer wasn't sure when she would get everything finalized with boarding and hauling and we wanted to be sure we were ready. If there had been anything prior going on with her, our vet would have found it. The 2nd HC was only days before she got on the War Horse Transport trailer. She also did not stress when hauling. We hauled her several times (a 4 hour trip one way to bring her closer to where the shipper could pick up) and we have cameras in our trailer and she never made a fuss and was always very calm in the trailer. |

| I had a horrible experience with Danny Gilder as well. His drivers picked up my horse in TX where he was healthy and looking good. I had to meet the drivers about 10 hours later than expected in Portland, OR to pick him up. When I entered the trailer to get him the water bucket was broke and laying on the ground underneath him, his lead was broken as well, the trailer looked like it was never cleaned out, he had gunk coming out of his eyes and dust all over his body. When I turned him to walk out of the trailer he almost fell over. He looked like a sick horse that had not been fed or watered for days.
After finally getting him home and trying to get him a little food and water he just got worse. I had to make an emergency call to vet who administered an IV, his temp got up to 107'. Luckily, we were able to save him but it took a few weeks for him to regain his strength and get back to normal.
I contacted Danny to let him know what happened but never got a return call. No refund, no sorry, no nothing. Just $500 vet bill plus the $1000 for shipping. Ridiculous!
