I have been doing so great but that last couple of days, not so much. My body is starving and my sugar is dropping. I am not diabetic but if I go to long without eating my body falls apart. Here is what I have been eating and you tell what I can do different to help the situation. My head has been hurting also.

Morning: eggs, fruit
Lunch: Salad, Meat (pork chops, chicken etc)
Snack: Nuts
Dinner: Meat, veggies
Snack: Fruit

I have been having tea with stevia also in the mornings and drinking water threw-out the day.

Thanks, for any advice.

What is your calorie intake? What about a baked sweet potato? Add a salad to your dinner too. What was your diet like before, is this a big change?

Big change, oh yes it is. Went from fast food to healthy. I'm not sure of my calorie intake. We make sweet potatoes a couple times a week for dinner.

Paleo doesn't count calories, however if I were you I would up my fat a little. You can also eat more since you are eating healthy foods.   Do you like avocados? It will take some time for your body to adjust however for me, I felt drained the first week or so, then my body felt amazing. Heathy changes always take time. I made mugcakes with almond butter as a great snack at night to help with sugar cravings.

I agree..
I am unsure what kind of fruit you are referring too but almond butter ( not the stuff with the added sugar)  spread on a fresh cut apple is yummy

I would eat more protein at night

I don't think you're eating enough. I eat when I'm hungry.

I always have protein with my fruit (which is usually bacon). It will keep your sugar levels stay level and will keep you from getting hungry too soon.

I eat a lot more since I've gone Paleo. Wish I had gone on this eating lifestyle years ago.

I try and eat an avocado a day.  If they are little soft in your hands before you peel they are ripe.  I peel it like an orange cut off the top then peel away the skin.  YUMMY on a hamburger patty  and chicken on my!!!  A little garlic powder and salt and pepper and YUMMY!!!

Sounds like you are hypoglycemic. I use to get headaches and light headed if I didn't eat enough before I went on the Paleo Lifestyle.
I don't have that problem anymore.

I just started back a week ago. We had done Paleo before and I didn't have this trouble. I am just hoping it was just the shock to my body and it would go away.

I started the Whole30 last Monday...first half of the week was rough! As others have suggested, you need more fat! I've had to up my meal sizes because I was feeling hungry way too much. Eat bigger meals, and you shouldn't feel so hungry.

http://whole9life.com/book/ISWF-Meal-Planning-Template.pdf

This has really helped me, my headaches went away by the end of last week, and I feel 10 times better!

My son is hypoglycemic.  I would guess you're not getting enough fat, and you need to up your complex carbs a little also.  More veggies, less fruit.  Are there any kinds of grains or pseudo grains you can eat on the paleo plan?  We do a lot of brown rice and quinoa.  It's all about balance.  Carbs should always be eaten with a good amount of protein, and a little fat added for balance and nutrient absorbtion.  Everyone's system is different and you'll have to experiment with different ratios and food combinations to find out what works.  We use cheese quite a bit successfully to balance carb intake, so you might have to modify what you're doing, at least until your body adjusts.

I have never had avocado and i like almond butter. Thanks guys

You have never had avocado?? You must!! Just cuz its green doesnt make it yucky!! Finally had my son get over what it looks like and just try it..now we fight over who gets the bigger half. I will say if they are to ripe they are bitter and not tasty. If i remember correctly avocado is a natural food that helps regulate blood sugar.

No grains on Paleo and for the hard core Paleo, no dairy either.

I mix them in things - put it with my eggs and sweet potatoes, or throw it in my chili. Granted, I can eat them plain, but they are great mixed with meals!

Once you get the junk out of your system, you will actually crave good foods..

We went from eating out everyday to eating out maybe once a month and most of the time I regret it.

I love bacon and watermelon and I always have both on hand where I can grab them for a snack.

I would personally add more complex carbs like sweet potato, oatmeal, and brown rice. I know that is not apart of paleo diets. But maybe adding more healthy fats would help too. I eat half an avocado every morning with my eggs.
I once tried going vegan. I ate ALOT. But i started experiencing extreme head aches and felt just drained, sometimes your body can't handle such a sudden and complete change in diet.
Make sure your on a multivitamin too. That might help.

I also found this helpful food list when I was considering paleo. I ended up opting for the "clean eating" and have never felt deprived.

We buy SO MUCH BACON! I buy it with the least amount of fat I can find. I dont like fats texture. We pretty much keep boiled eggs and cooked bacon at all times. Perfect snack for any time of day. WHO CAN SAY NO TO BACON?? LOL

mam0329 - 2013-11-25 12:03 PM I ate an avocado and it was not my favorite. Maybe I should have in something. It tasted like a nut almost and bland. The texture almost got to me also. lol
Once you get the junk out of your system, you will actually crave good foods..

We went from eating out everyday to eating out maybe once a month and most of the time I regret it.

I love bacon and watermelon and I always have both on hand where I can grab them for a snack.
We buy SO MUCH BACON! I buy it with the least amount of fat I can find. I dont like fats texture. We pretty much keep boiled eggs and cooked bacon at all times. Perfect snack for any time of day. WHO CAN SAY NO TO BACON?? LOL

Bacon is it's own food group, they need to redo the pyramid!  LOL!

MS2011 - 2013-11-19 11:12 AM Any idiot proof crock pot recipes?

Really trying to eat better at night.  Me cooking just isn't going to happen.... I leave the house at 7, get home around 6:30-7.  Then go out to the arena and ride.

We come in starving at 9:30-10 and wind up eating wheat thins & cheese for dinner.  My poor husband... LOL!
Same here! He's like protein shake.....again???
That's breakfast......

Totally sounds like my house!
