Location: So. Cali. | With the futurity season just around the corner I'm curious to what supplements/grains if any you feed your upcoming superstar. Are they on a joint supplement as a preventative? A multi-vitamin since they're still growing? A gut support since they're traveling young? Maybe a good all in one??
Please share you feeding routine and maybe share how often per month you plan on hitting jackpots with them?

| Mine when hauling, are on a joint suppliment, papaya, a high fat, generally flax seed, apple cider vinegesr, if know to have ulcers, ulcer meds, and if they lack the lustre, I have them on red cell.
Doesn't matter how old mine are they are still treated the same way.
I also use bot wraps when hauling long distances, sore no more spray or gel after runs, bot blankets for overnight.
As of jan I am hoping to be hauling to 1-2 runs per week, within an hour and a half driving distance one way. Weather permitting as I do live in Alberta

Location: California | My filly is on Seabuck, and I just started her on Lung Aid since she is going to be traveling here soon. I feed Omolene 200. She will be running Dec 1 as a warm up to the futurity on Dec7-8. If the weather stays pretty nice I plan on running her once the weekend of Dec 14-15 and then again once Dec 28-29. Then we hit the road for all 3 AZ futurities. After that she'll probably get a break for a couple of weeks and we'll just have to see how she has been running to see what we enter next. I'd like to go to the WA futurities, but those payments don't start until Feb 1, so we can see how January goes. She's eligible for a lot of stallion incentives, so I plan on entering up where they offer those since she's only eligible for the futurity ones this year! |

| I don't have a futurity horse this year, but I think oxy-max from oxygen is a very good supplement for a futurity horse, if protects their stomachs, helps with recovery, and has adequate glucosamine & MSM to protect the joints also. |

| If I feel my colt is ready for futurities when the time comes - he will be on THE for his specific needs at that time as well as JailBreak GI before he runs. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | Well I'm back to the drawing board with a 3yr old gelding with 25 days under saddle soooo depending on how bad a winter I have and how fast I can get him going and more importantly, how well he handles the pressure. I may have a futurity horse. He will get mostly pasture time, but when he is in the corral, he will get T.H.E Muscle Mass with whatever blends I think will most benefit him. I always go with joint & arthritis, ulcer prevent for a start. I think I will keep him on Total Equine for grain, I liked how his full brother looked on it and when I start to compete will probably do Legend shots. |

you need to have one for next year because I don't want to take mine to the 5 States alone!! Ahhh!!! LOL 
That being said, my colt is on King Brand 20/20 Ultra, Dr. Cheeke's YQ, alfalfa pellets and beet pulp. We may not be ready in time, though. Getting pregnant (me) was not part of the plan so I am a bit behind in his training. Colt is smart and a bit cocky...wants to go on to the next thing without totally "finishing" the lesson at hand.

I'll see what Rio does. Brian has been calving on him. He had a great start this past summer then came in from pasture sore in his hips. Had him adjusted, gave him the winter off and he is A+. So if he has some desire I'll take him. I really want to. Gunner, my Firewater Finale is sure nice too, but he is just 3 now. Rio is from the same crop as Cody. |
