| I am looking at a 13 year old gelding out of A Special Wind and Striking Distance. I am wondering if the sire is Striking Distance the Thoroughbred or Striking Distance the Quarter Horse out of Dash for cash.

| Okay I am almost positive that he is out of the QH stallion, because all the research I've found says that Striking Distance TB is a mare...... |

 Can You Hear Me Now?
Location: When you hit the middle of nowhere .. Keep driving | He's got a nice race pedigree full of big names. I like dash for cash crossed on special effort personally. I have a grandson of Rebs policy that I love too. He should have plenty of speed. |

Don't forget that you can also look up pedigree information on Equibase for free if Allbreed gets a little confusing. Here's the link to the sire on there:

| Can you ask the seller if the papers are QH or Appendix? That would answer the question of QH or TB |

I looked on there and seen that "Striking Distance" the TB was a mare. But he is registered as an Appendix Quarter Horse. I asked if she would send me a quick photo of the papers and her reply was "If you don't mind why do you want to see the papers, I've never had anyone ask me that before." I think she is a teenager......So I've set out to do the research myself. lol |

I know! haha. I have a colt for sale and about 20 minutes after she said that someone messaged me asking to see a picture of the papers. I wanted to forward it to her and say " Not uncommon." I don't know if she is just young or what the deal is. They are only asking $875 for him and she currently rides him english. Can a horse be appendix without one of the parents being a thoroughbred?

Faith is registered Appendix because her momma is Appendix (having never achieved her ROM apparently), so yes they can be appendix without one of the parents being pure thoroughbred. |
