For my family, friends and sponsors, here is an update. Thank you all so much for your support! Ready for NFR!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Duke injured, will not run at NFR ... HOUSTON (November 26, 2013) – Two-time world champion, Brittany Pozzi, will not be riding Yeah He’s Firen at the 2013 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Yeah He’s Firen, “Duke,” named after well-known trainer LaTricia Duke, came up lame at the Elite Barrel Racing competition in Waco, Texas, on Nov. 15. Dr. Marty Tanner, Duke’s veterinarian, from Elgin Veterinary Hospital in Elgin, Texas, said, “Duke has a deep digital flexor partial tear in the foot and is undergoing bone marrow stem cell regenerative therapy.” For Pozzi’s tenth trip to the NFR, she will be wearing the number 33 on her back and riding She’s Free to Flame, owned by Trip and Callie Duperier, and Terrible Tommy Twist owned by Sammi Bessert.

| Brittany has made futurity champions and money winning horse at the toughest futurities in the nation for several years now. Being the 10 time NFR competitor that she is, I'm sure she knows better than most that the Thomas and Mack arena during the NFR is better suited - ground wise and atmosphere wise - to an "older" horse. Go Brittany! |

I'm not arguing with that thought at all Holly. She's a hand and could make a donkey win in that pen. I just thought she had quite a few up and coming horses that she'd been rodeoing on. |

She does. She also rides many horses owned by other people. I would assume she is taking whatever horses she knows she has the best chance of winning on. If I had to borrow better horses then what I owned, you bet I would! That's a whole boat load of money to be won! |

I was thinking the same thing as you CYA. Of course with that BHW disclaimer that she's a pro and can do whatever she wants... |

Teddy was once owned by Savanah Reeves (not sure if Savanah bred her or not, because she's a full sister to Flaming Pastem and out of the same dam as Savanah's horse than she won 100k on at Calgary.). I'm not sure when Trip bought Teddy but she's been in Brittany's barn for awhile. |

Location: Riding Crackhead. | Thanks for the explanations guys. I'm sorry I'm so out of the loop. I'm lucky to keep up with myself and then I try to keep up with a few of the pro's makes my head spin.
I think its horrible at this stage of the game for any of these girls to have to climb on a new ride but in all honesty it's going to be exciting to watch her ride a different horse and I bet she's still going to rock the house! |

Duke by far is one of my favorites, but either way I think this is going to be a seriously tough tough year at the NFR for all these gals!! |

Location: Exactly where I am supposed to be | Many Prayers to Miss Pozzi for quick recovery of Duke, they are my favorites to watch year after year, that has to be a bummer to her. He has nursed that injury off and on it seems like, but She's Free to Flame is a nice mare she is going to do great !!!! |

| I thought Brittany was supposed to ride Kristi Schiller's great horse "Recent Release" at the NFR? Weird she doesn't mention "R" but the press release is put out by the Schiller Ranch PR office |
