From the hotel taking out the old arena and warm up pen years ago to now they have slowly taken it all. It is sad that won't be in exsistance any longer. I have lots of memories from that place. When Jeanne and I would be bored Phyllis would haul us up there and Howard would have us ride the trails to get the stable horses going again for the people. Later after the new arena was built Howard would have us all come and put on exhibition rodeos for the different conventions in town. I loved the old arena at the bottom of the hill though I always thought that was the arena of all arenas, I don't know why. I guess it is because it is one of the first ones I remember going to. I still remember the clown doing the saw the crate in two act and trying to get him to let me do it. The place will be missed.

I've run at their rodeo the last few years and will miss having it on the schedule. Chance always seemed to work well in that huge pen. I was hoping this was like the past times that rumors of its demise had gone around and turned out to be untrue. :(
