Location: Arkansas | I am looking to buy some new set ups to keep on hand at the house, and would like to know what are yall's favorite bits/ must-haves in your tack room?? I currently have something similar to a sweet 66 and a twisted wire short shank gag that I run my horse in... along with an O ring for easy days!! I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone uses and what works best for them!! Thanks! |

Location: Kansas | An O ring with good feel and each person has to know what they like. One of my absolute favorite is the Dave Elliot/Sue Smith Spur Up number 2 with the #19 mouth. Loomis Gag Charmayne Ryan I love the Pozzi medium shank lifter with 3 piece smooth mouth At least one hack on hand and I prefer the S hack You could take about all my bits away but these and I could get by. I also have a couple combination bits but rarely use them. |

Location: Arkansas | I have always wanted to try a loomis! I hear they really soften one up but that they are sometimes difficult to learn how to use. I would really like to try a Goosetree simplicity and a double gag... |

| Love my Loomis, and am waiting on one each, twisted wire and smooth mouth coming from Joyce on a wire hanger. Also have the CE smooth mouth Loomis.
Love a good quality smooth mouth snaffle and want a Tom Balding snaffle.
Love the original Grasshopper and a little short shank twisted wire dog bone that's great for the youngsters to transition in. |

| Brittany Pozzi lifter seems to end up in everybody's mouth at one time or another.
Tiny twisted O ring with draw reins for everyday legging up.
Carol Goosetree lifter is my go to.
I also like my gelding in his short ported, long shanked curb bit, I think it's a Martha Josey bit.
I used to use only my Charmayne Chappy bit and O-rings with a headsetter, but I've noticed that as my string gets faster and faster and my riding evolves more competitively, the shanks get longer and I use less gag. |

Location: Arkansas | I am about set on trying a loomis; do they come with a dogbone mouth piece?? Also, you don't use a curb chain with these, correct?
I have heard some great testimonies on Goosetree bits and I know she is a very knowledgable person, so I just wanna try some of her bits to experiment!
My guy is on a little break right now, so he will definitely need some legging up and light riding when we start back! I have my little twisted wire O ring waiting in the barn!! lol |

Location: Phoenix | I mostly ride rope horses, so I love my Mike Beers ported chain. My horses seems to pack it well and it keeps them soft and I can get some bend out of them.
Also so like the JD hack from LW bits. Or whatever it's called on there. The Carl?
I am looking to increase my bit collection as well... |

Location: North of where I want to be | I want to ask, what you all would use to get one that has learned well how to move his hips & shoulders (for only being ridden 5 times) but I just cannot get him to soften & give his face as much as I'd like.......any ideas? |

Location: Southern OK aka God's Country | I always have a twisted wire snaffle (not a small twist, too harsh!), and I am in love with my Martha Josey million dollar bit right now. It has really made a huge difference in my horse. I was ready to scrap him and this bit has made him a new man :) |

| I have a million snaffle bits. That's pretty much all I use. I like the Pozzi lifter bits and most of the Goostree bits. Bits I don't like are Ed Wright Pretzel, Sweet 6, and the Myler 3-Ring Combo bit. |
