I suffered a foot injury in September - most likely a bad tendon or ligament tear on the outside and below the ankle.  It still hurts like a sob.  It's been time to work out for weeks now but there is no way I can get on my eliptical, or any other impact exercise.  What else can I try for aerobic exercise that doesn't involve foot action??

Yoga, pilates, swimming, rowing, bicycle, and burpee's will really get your heart rate up.

Oh, I have no job so no $$$ for anything outside the house.  I have a nicely equipped weight room, but pushing weights is not aerobic.  The biggest body of water I have to work with is horse tanks!  LOL!

Yoga would be great.  I'll take a look around the internet and netflix and see if I can find a workout that might do the trick.   What the heck is a burpee??  I'll go look into that too . . .

eta - nope on the burpee!  I need to either be completely stationary on that foot if standing, or preferrably off the foot completely.  I know it needs medical attention, but that isn't happening until I get a job.  Copays could be enough to take the horse food budget.

I did the exact same thing to my foot.  It took me about 6 months to feel comfortable in boots and riding aggressively.  Took about a year for it to quit throbbing after activity or hot showers/baths.

I would look into Pilates or yoga.  Although with those you have to be careful wih poses, some aren't foot friendly.  Also, once it's feeling pretty good, the T-25 workout series has a low-impact option to follow.
