Back in September I submitted a video which was basically an "audition" to become a flag girl at the NFR. Well, to my surpise, I was chosen as one of the 10 finalists. To say I was ecstatic would be an understatement. On Monday I will be flying out to Las Vegas to try to prove that I deserve a spot to be a flag girl for thr 2014 NFR. Im beyond excited and nervous at the same time! They are only choosing 3 girls out of the 10 and im hoping im one of those girls. So I could definitely use some good luck vibes next week!

On tuesday we will have to carry a flag and be interviewed by a panel of judges. And on Wednesday we will be guests on the Flint Rasmussen's show, where they will also announce the 3 girls that will return next year. It should be a great experience, even if I dont get chosen.
And for those that asked, here is my audition video. We had to keep it under 2 minutes (which I failed at but I got close lol) so its pretty short.

You know its funny because when I first sent in the video and got chosen I was so beyond excited that I had the chance of being a flag girl this year. Angie ( the woman in charge of it all) sent an email out stating the dates and times we would have to be there. December 10th is the day we have to ride. Then I got to really thinking about it and realized that the first round is on the 5th, which was yesterday of course. And I was like "Well how can I be a flag girl when the NFR has already started?" So I went back to the competition rules and noticed that it was for 2014! So I had a major blonde moment!

She didnt make it to the final three, they went with girls that had rodeo queen backgrounds but she said she had an amazing time!! You still rock, Kori!! |
