| Any barrel horse people around meridian? I just moved here from tx and looking for real barrel races all I'm finding are play days! I know the level of competition is a lot different in Texas but please tell me there are decent jackpots here?! |

Location: Mississippi | They have lots of NBHA races right there in Lauderdale Co at the Ag Center. I think that is MS 07 district. I'm 3 hrs north, but really enjoy the races there when I get a chance to go. |

Location: The black prairie of Mississippi | Try looking up the NBHA MS07 website. It's well maintained and there are lots of shows at the agcenter in Meridian. There are also TONS of shows in the Jackson area which is going to be about 30/45 minutes from Meridian. They just had a Platinum Productions show in Jackson a few weeks ago and the added money on them is pretty good and so is the turnout and payout.
There are also bigger shows at Hattiesburg and Brookhaven. You're about three hours from Memphis, lots of added money shows there, and several good runs at Starkville at the Horse Park. They horse park has a website too.
If you want to rodeo there is Tri-State Rodeo, Southeastern Rodeo Association, PCA, and PRCA runs all within a few hours driving. Tri-State and SPRA bot have sites as well. Hope that helps! |

Location: South TEXAS | there is plenty to go to but it is different than in texas. I lived in that area all my life till January 2012 and I moved to South Texas.
there are not usually any weekly jackpots and the NBHA are once or twice per month. MS 07 is a great district and usually gets over 100 in the open at their shows. Jackson, Starkville, and Hattiesburg are your main areas to host the bigger shows.
pcarodeo.com they have great rodeos from January-October and its very competitive.
