Really wanting to get my mother a stone memorial made up for her horse's burial site for Christmas. I know I'm getting down in time limit to order. I haven't found anything in my area except dog or cat stones, I want to personalize it with his name and dates. Nothing too big just something we can put where he's resting now. Anybody know of some places online? Would really appreciate it!!

When I was interested for my horses I just went to a human head stone maker. Sometimes you can get great deals that way as well. We bury all of ours in the same place and only the good horses get to be buried there. Our stone is for all of them " Here lay some of the Greats".

If you can't find one cheap enough, you might be able to make one like I did when my cat Jack passed away in October. It's not granite or stone but I like it alot and it looks so good here at the ranch.
I used a treated deck post and made a cross with two finials of the same treated wood. I bought some metal garnishment pieces from Hobby Lobby and used a $15 wood burning tool to make my lettering. I finished it all off with a solar light that sits on top of the deck post (it's crooked in the picture -- I didn't get it on well but it works lol) so you can see it at night. I like knowing that Jack is watching over us at all times. I used a stain/sealer for outdoor wood work for decks to finish the whole thing off. I think I spent about $50 total on it and will probably do this for all of our pets/horses since it looks good and wasn't too complicated to manage:
I used a hook for the back of it to hang a bird feeder off of -- Jack was my bird killer -- but you could put one of their horseshoes or something on it instead.

My Father-in-law went to our local funeral home and got 2 that were left over. We just had their names put on it and a horse running carved into the stone.

I know time is running clase but if you want a wood something go to your local high school and see if they can make what you want. They are always needing projects to work on and can use the money.
