he has always ran to the right all year...was shocked to see her take him to the left he looked a little lost. that was the horse that qualified her to the nfr this year...hmmm

Does she have another horse that runs the opposite? Maybe she got confused and forgot which one she was on. My nerves got bad and I did that once. lhh.

Makes me wonder if there is something behind one barrel that he doesn't like and changing the first barrel gives her a different angle on it so its not as scary. I've switched horses from right to left or left to right depending on arena conditions before. I'm sure she has a reason for doing it.

I have a horse that runs equally well both directions so when I think that he has a better view of the first barrel one direction over another I will switch him. Maybe this is her thought process.

She's an NFR barrel racer, I doubt she "forgets" which barrel to go to first...it's not uncommon for horses to be switched to the opposite barrel. Martha was a prime example.
