I have a piece of pork that is from a friend's farm and labeleed "fresh ham".  It looks like a pork roast to me - what's the best way to cook this?

Roast it in the oven

Smoke it.

It's just a ham that has not been cured in any way

I would boil it in a lard stand. Pour a bottle of dales sauce in the water.

This is just like a pork roast, but from the hind quarter of the pig. Treat it like a regular pork roast. When my daughter was younger she did not like the taste of ham, so I just had the hind quarter cut up for roasts. After it is smoked then it can be called a ham. Enjoy your great pork roast.
